hi all as lord street is basically finished (minus a few things here n there) i have decided to start my second layout,

the baseboard is 3ft x 1.3ft. (minus fiddle yard) so it is quite small!, i am going to try and use what i have laying around including 2 points and some spare track, the whole thing fits 1 loco the 08 and 2 double bogie wagons (2 coal hoppers or somthing else)

im not sure what sort of yard i will do yet but i like the idea of coal as i already have the hoppers and lots of coal dust!, as i said i am going to try and spend nothing at all on the layout and just use what i already have,

braces underneath the board will be fitted soon! as well as sideboards.

below is the track plan i have decided on that fits!

here are two shots of what is there

again if anyone has any other ideas i could use the layout for rather than coal/ballast comment below!

thanks for looking, i hope you like the idea!

thanks

Nice little project - I'm a fan of small layouts,

they can be big on atmosphere....

A rail-served scrapyard is a nice idea

have you seen Richard Colemans' "Albion Metals"

scrapyard layout in this months BRM?

There's also a nice feature by him, on modelling scrap wagons & scrap loads.....

Good luck with the layout - keep us posted

Marc

PS. Scrap yards offer a nice variety of wagons

and offer much potential for using old Lima/Hornby/unused wagons & bits of scrap
