simon hudson
This morning I was travelling up to Llanrwst (as a passenger in the works van) crossing the over bridge into Llanrwst,I noticed a square yellow pole, aprox 3 foot high it appeared to be clamped to the track it had two red light vertically both lit. I am curious to know what it was and indeed it's purpose, obviously some form of warning light but as I say it appeared to be clamped or certainly right up close to the running track
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted February 11, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 11, 2013 Probably a marker denoting the start of an engineering possession. Cheers, Mick
James
Did it look like this? http://shop.spartansafety.co.uk/LED-mk2-marker-board-p/rw19301.htm Or like this? Though I suspect the former. http://spartansafety.co.uk/RW19302_LED_Possession_Limit_STOP_Board.html Page 39 here shows the use of worksite boards within a possesion - http://www.rgsonline.co.uk/Rule_Book/Rule Book Modules/T - Track and Signalling Work/GERT8000-T3 Iss 1.pdf

simon hudson
James it was a fleeting glimpse but definately that sort of idea, but I could have sworn it was a square pole about 3' high but then again I'd be useless at an identity parade
James
They can be different designs - it's the arrangement and size of the lights which is key. So if not the same as the link, I think you've seen something with the same purpose! They are about to mid thigh height (if you're not too tall!) so as a guess of the size, you're not far off!
