Red Marker Lights

This morning I was travelling up to Llanrwst (as a passenger in the works van) crossing the over bridge into Llanrwst,I noticed a square yellow pole,aprox 3 foot high it appeared to be clamped to the track it had two red light vertically both lit.

I am curious to know what it was and indeed it's purpose,obviously some form of warning light but as I say it appeared to be clamped or certainly right up close to the running track

Probably a marker denoting the start of an engineering possession.

James it was a fleeting glimpse but definately that sort of idea,but I could have sworn it was a square pole about 3' high but then again I'd be useless at an identity parade

They can be different designs - it's the arrangement and size of the lights which is key. So if not the same as the link, I think you've seen something with the same purpose! They are about to mid thigh height (if you're not too tall!) so as a guess of the size, you're not far off!
