Mattmaz
Has anyone managed to successfully devise a way of coupling two Bachmann (00) Voyagers together to enable multiple operation ? I have been trying to work out a way of doing so without cannibalising another Voyager for it's inner end coupling mechanisms... any ideas gratefully received! St. Simon
Hi Matt, Try pulling out the dummy coupling on the end of the unit and mount a Kadee coupling in it's place Simon
Red Baron
is it a dummy coupling? hmm there might be a way to attach my thunderbird to a voyager then....
Simon_R
Someone in Japan makes a working delner style coupling, no idea who though i just read it somewhere a few years ago. You could then swap the power car for one of the additional coaches Bachmann sell. Im sure one pc would easily drag 7 coaches as its a nice all wheel drive can motored unit. Red Baron
I wouldnt be so sure about it dragging 7... mine struggles to drag 3!
Simon_R
Mine flys around happily with 3 or 4, although i have modified the couplings to give a bit more movement.
Red Baron
I think mine is poorly... or I havenot got the decoder set up properly... mot sure.. there is a constant "vibration" more like a pod racer than a model train.
Ragtag
is it a dummy coupling? hmm there might be a way to attach my thunderbird to a voyager then.... A recent Model Rail covered how to couple a 57 to a Hornby pendolino using kadee couplers. I imagine the method could be adapted to suit voyagers. Simon_R
I think that was a chop up job. I did it ages ago with a Dapol voyager and it works ok i suppose (blessed ebay provided i dummy unit to hack about)
Swifty11
If you are still stuck then you can get voyager replacement dummy cars on eBay or you can get the couplings to go between the coaches available separately from Bachmann
laurenceb
There was an article in Model Rail just after the model was introduced , if memory serves the coupling used was made by Hasagawa. I have looked on the for such a thing but to no avail Laurence
Adrian Wintle
My Voyager now has Kadees in place of the dummy couplings. When we want to run multiples we just swap power cars between the two sets so that each set has a Kadee on one end and a dummy on the others (I can hear the rivet counters cringing...) JZ
My son did this when he had two sets and using the Express Models lighting kit, set the lights for multiple working.
