spring steel wire

I'm looking for some more wire for use with point motors.  The DCC Supplies site says that they use 0.8mm spring steel wire with the Cobalts, however I've noticed that their's is stiffer than the stuff that comes with Tortoises.

Can anyone recommend a source of wire (probably a yard or so) of the same stiffness as that supplied with the Cobalts.

TIA

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll see what I can dig up locally next week.

For my Tortoise motors I used piano wire from this ebay seller - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Piano-Wire-Roslau-3m-length-9ft-10-for-Crafts-Metal-Working-Industrial-springs-/252264244762?var=&hash=item3abc1ee61a:m:mlQ2xYppul6TIp2adpWzG9g

The recommended wire size is 0.036" (size 16).  £3.29 with free postage.
