Brilliant idea!

What made you think of that, Kal?

Or was it one of those "Hmmm... I wonder what this'll do" moments :)

Seems to be doing the job, whatever.

Al.

Not planned, I had heard or watched somebody say a cocktail stick was good for removing numbers and having watched a video of somebody killing a deltic with a fiberglass brush I was determined to remove them with no trace.

Tried the cocktail stick, which is one I use for putting on super glue, with the soft end and it didn't do much, so I just turned it over on a whim and it seemed to do the job. Didn't really even think about it till jaz asked me when she tried.

I have a coffin, but I was planning to do a hole in the ground and have it suspended, as it is lowered, and considered getting a second one for people to walk along carrying, It would mean chopping up figures but I could butcher some plastic ones. :butcher: How would I get in the hearse without damaging it?

As for the tips I think most of them were don't copy my mistakes LMAO.

My ego's so big that the very idea of making mistakes online is hard to stomach. So there's something else I need to learn from you...

In fact, the lessons learned from someone else's mistakes are of special value. Time, materials, frustration - all are saved by proxy.

Take it you haven't seen the signaling block diagram blunder on my thread. I understand it but am no expert, Really don't care what anyone thinks. My theory is that if you don't go there you never gonna know!

It's a specialist subject for sure and unless you know the exact track layout for any given point in time or have an old plan then some of it must be down to guesswork.

I spent hours to get as far as I did and know it's still not right but not even a single like let alone any comments has damaged my ego. Well at least a little bit!

Are you talking about the Goathland thread?

If so, there are comments and likes?

I know less about signals than I do about home economics, so cannot help.

I have been avoiding thinking about signals thus far. When I do get round to it, I intend to. Just put them where I think then let someone say if they are wrong.

I am sure that there are lots of people I have not met who know about Signals or those I have met that keep it quiet, but the only person I have come across that knew an encyclopaedia's worth of info on everything to do with signals was a member of MRF called Bear.

He did some very good threads trying to explain, but as with most things on the internet of quality, some numpties have to come along and pat their keyboard ego, with trivial arguments trying to tip the apple cart.

Same with most threads of real interest unfortuneatly. That is why I try to stick on the layout threads, you may not get the answers you need sometimes, but at least you are not wound up by self servicing numpties,...... thus far at least.

Kal, Shaun, et al,

Hvae you seen this site?  It may have been mentioned last week but I have been to work since then and so that is another world.

There are real experts on the forum, many actual signalmen, and women who know most about it
