Jaz
Where I was looking at the Kiwis for the drawing them, I was surprised at how different they can look. There seems to be a noticeable difference in colour. some have pale, some have dark feet...and shades between. The colouring of the birds feathers has some difference too. Now that is not unusually. But I was surprised over the different textures of the feathers. Some are short and similar in colour to our hedgehogs....but some are long straggly or even fluffy.I suppose the young feathers are short and spiky, and maybe the longer straggly ones are either old feathers...or young birds approaching adult hood...and some might be wet....i.e. the straggly ones. I used the New Zealand coin as a definitive view. And the size of their eggs seem to be as big as the Chinese gooseberry / Kiwi fruit as we know it over here...although their eggs are white. Amazing how when you take a close look t something how you notice stuff that you never even considered before. Finally intrigued I read a couple of the actual sites and found there are 5 main species of Kiwi and at least two more sub species. Which goes a long way to explain my observations. https://www.kiwisforkiwi.org/about-kiwi/kiwi-species/
runs as required
With your graffiti you would definitely have been awarded a First Class on my Fine Art degree course. Graffiti has been all the rage for a few years now - but only for the men. Geordie girls seemed to prefer sewing together little tents in the studio then sitting in them and decorating their bodies...... Funny old business 'taste'
Jaz
Lovely to see you 1. at all. 2. having come across from our old forum. 3. And congratulations on your degree pass. well if i was young/unattached, had a head for heights (which I don't I can't even walk across the glass floor at Blackpool tower) I would definitely go do graffiti on walls for real. If the graffiti is non offensive, and basically artwork, i.e. not a quick scrawl I think it a nice thing to see. and for many it is their Louvre / Tate Gallery. As some of our visitors can testify, I cannot leave a blank wall in piece. Our home is littered with Murals. We are planning on removing the last lot of wallpaper in the lounge.....and I think that a mural would look good there too. Kal and I have discussed doing it on the outside walls too. I have several ideas.....It will certainly give the postman a wake up in the mornings!!!!! As for making a tent to sit in and put temporary tattoos on my body. I cannot for the life of me see the interest. Although my son has a Phoenix tattooed on his back that I designed for him. my design. The wording is fire bird.....rather than phoenix. the tattooist the colours are brand new here, and not yet scabbed off, but a bit red for my taste, and will look best with a second colour......I think I would have liked to do tattoos. Marcus 37
Hi Jaz More fantastic work on the graffiti front. I do like the way you've done HORNBYANDBF3FAN in the style of the Hornby logo. Very neat. The Kiwi is also a work of art, don't know why, but it keeps reminding me I need to polish by boots. LOL. Just off topic for a minute. I've just bought some Ratio telegraph poles. You can tell Kal that the foot steps on the side are present and perfectly visible. He'll know what I mean. Cheers Marcus.

Jaz
I tried some flashes.and some white highlights....but the graffiti is so short...that i just messed it up rmweb2466wall311 so I did a tidy up....the picture is hard to take as the camera wants to focus in the middle and i want the whole picture with this at the bottom..... once it is in place... it will photograph much better hornbyand b3fan rmweb2467wall312 running along the wall....you see the adjacent graffiti ess1uk rmweb2482wall327 where a single flash worked better as i had the height Edited July 13, 2014 by Jaz

Jaz
and onto some new (I'd say different......but as it is still graffiti) I white washed the water dragon to make way for a triplet...... this joke started on our old forum....and hopefully I can do all 3 justice.... aligning eyes noses and mouths over the cracks is proving challenging rmweb2483wall328 Im hoping the reference matter at least will become obvious.....and the three in question will be able to recognise themselves..... I think the fact that preservation stations often stage this era makes it more relevant... rmweb2484wall329 getting the proportions right is the trick, the one in the middle is proving the hardest, though the face on the left is too rounded at the moment rmweb2485wall330 Edited July 13, 2014 by Jaz
