6959
reply received from Hornby... Thank you for your e-mail. I have spoken to our technical specialist who has said it is really down to personal preference which type of wheels you use on your coaches. It may be worthwhile chatting with other modellers on the model railway forums as they may be able to advise you further regarding this. I am still none the wiser. jcm@gwr
AFAIA, the 4 hole are for the Pullman coaches. (I wouldn't know, as I don't have any!) Jeff
Ravenser
BR Mk1s would appear to have had 4 small "pinholes" in their wheels , at least on earlier types of bogie. But you have to look very hard at good photos to spot this....
jwealleans
Once under a coach, inside a bogie, painted black/rust/a shade inbetween and in motion, it's impossible to tell. I use them interchangeably. The only ones to be careful of are the live to one side type sold for the illuminated pullmans. Fit those to a brass kit (especially in a pair the opposite way round to each other) and you're guaranteed fireworks.
