Horsetan
Only one Rover P5 plus the ubiquitous MGB roadster seen when on the way to RailEx today. Everyone else on the road seems to favour SUVs and MPVs these days.
keefr2
Afraid not Keith, it was a quick in and out visit! That's a shame Nidge, never mind, I suppose I'll have to go & look at the one in the garage. If I can find it underneath all the rubbish that seems to have accumulated on top of it...
jetmorgan
A couple of screen grabs from the TV. First is a London taxi cab...not sure but I think this might be an Austin FX3 but I'm sure someone can correct, plus an interior shot. From The Avengers episode Noon Doomsday. Don't ask why there is a taxi in the middle of a field...it was the Avengers and there is very little in that show that did make any real sense. Doesn't stop me from being a big fan though. Next up is a coach and either a Ford Transit or a Bedford van from the Are You Being Served movie. I don't know much more than that as coach & van spotting was never my thing.
Del
The taxi is interesting, it's not an FX3 and it's not a Beardmore (possibly the most common non-Austin black cab). EDIT - Looks like it's a Winchester - http://www.forgottenfiberglass.com/fiberglass-car-marques/foreign-fiberglass/forgotten-fiberglass_pond-winchester-taxicab-bill-munro/ Edited May 28, 2017 by Del

28XX
Definitely a Mk 1 Transit with the extended nose to accommodate the 4-in line diesel (the petrol vans used the 1.7 V4 from the Taunus / Corsair which was very space efficient in a van.).
peter220950
Had a brilliant day at Prescott Speed Hillclimb again today. Forget expensive F1 events, where else can you get a car park with trains running at the bottom, a Spitfire overhead, and this sort of thing casually parked amongst the modern dross All this before you've even paid a measly £20 to get in to see And to be able to get up close and personal with all sorts of exotica, including the new Bugatti Chiron What made it even better was the free pass I had been given, Peter

Rugd1022
Fantastic set of pics Peter, so much to absorb and such a variety. Some old Mini related stuff from the golden era of aftermarket goodies, some more useful and still sought after than others... I've thought about making one of these roof consoles myself, it can't be too difficult if I make a card template first, I've already made a template for a centre console to go under the dash... The owner of a '64 Mk1 Mini is trying to identify the period dash that's in it, anyone here recognise it...? This 'Ritmo' dash panel is similar to the 'Radbourne' one in my Mk2 S... This bonnet set up is similar to the one on George Harrison's Radford Cooper S 'LGF 695D'...

Rugd1022
That quad-pipe rear exhaust box is funny. My Jap Mini auto has a pointless twin pipe rear box which seems to make it even more asthmatic than standard! Clearly whoever fitted it in Japan had a sense of humour. This early Mk1 has some interesting period extras, it still has it's full width lower valance too, quite rare now... Not sure about that steering wheel but the seats are nice, Restalls, Microcells or Contours I think... If I could find a half decent usable Mk1 for a reasonable price I'd probably sell the Jap auto to make room for one. keefr2
I like the look of those quicklift jacks. If they actually worked of course! Something I hadn't thought of before, when you are preparing a car for Historic rallying you often need to provide proof that certain items were used in period, such as wheel arch extensions- ads like those are ideal! Hmm, so he's got himself a Healey again - he last had one very many years ago which he acquired after he sold his rebuilt Triumph Spitfire (self-rebuilt with my occasional help after it was totalled by some idiot woman reversing into it in a local car park) but the Healey of those days was four-banger (on which he also did a lot of work). Presumably the Jag has gone? Now where are my pics of the rebuilt Spit?

Presumably the Jag has gone? Now where are my pics of the rebuilt Spit? Mike, I assumed it was a 3000, but it did not have a grille so difficult to be sure. I wandered over to have quick look at it while Paul and June were getting out. I commented that it was a good thing I hadn't brought my MGB as it would have been rather surpassed. The Ford Coupe on the left was a "oily rag" restoration, but fitted with a small block Chevy motor. THe floor had rotted through and been plated over with USA number plates. The silver AMG Merc. towards the back was owned by a person drinking Foster's from a can, who took delight in deafening people by revving it and then telling his mates how fast he had driven it on the A14. Some people, it seems, never grow up and have more money than sense (or taste)
