pete_mcfarlane
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24330881 There's a joint Eurostar/Keolis bid for the retendered ECML franchise. There's not much detail on here, but the BBC once again display their inability to check basic facts. The line runs from London to Aberdeen via Peterborough, Leeds, York, Newcastle, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. London to Aberdeen via Leeds and Glasgow. That's going to be a long journey ;-)
RMweb Premium Richard E Posted September 30, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2013 ECML retender already discussed here - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/69912-ec-franchise-up-for-grabs/page-2&do=findComment&comment=1175203 From the East Coast website, it seems the BBC have slightly changed this: East Coast operates on routes totalling 936 miles, from London to Peterborough, the East Midlands, Leeds, York, Newcastle, Edinburgh and beyond to Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow. GoingUnderground
So will we see the 14 car 373s back on the ECML, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
'CHARD
So will we see the 14 car 373s back on the ECML, or is that just wishful thinking on my part? Don't we wish! I'm afraid bidders are mandated to introduce the Ninky-Nonk Class 800 and 801 IEPs so beloved of the micro-managing DfT.
