pH Posted October 19, 2013 Share Posted October 19, 2013 Some recent photos of narrow gauge rolling stock, taken at various places in southwestern Colorado: Durango and Silverton coaches in the yards at Durango: and concession (food service) car: Denver and Rio Grande Western cabooses, 0575 at Ridgway Railroad Museum: and 0505 in the yard at Silverton: D&RG outfit car, a 'mobile home' for the D&RG Water Service Supervisor and his family while he supervised work being done on water tanks etc. on the railroad, preserved at Ridgway Railroad Museum: D&RGW bunk car for the crew of a rotary snowplow. The plow with which it was associated (rotary OM) is preserved on the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. This car is at Silverton: Durango and Silverton snow spreader in the yards at Durango. This has been modified, using power reversers from steam engines, so that the wings can be remotely controlled, and workers do not have to ride on the spreader itself to do this.
