Evening All!

I am planning the signalling for my layout Bridgtown (see http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/56229-bridgtown/) where I think I will be needing stencil indicators to access a Steel Transfer terminal from multiple roads and an additional siding from one of those roads.

I was planning on using "SDG" for the transfer terminal until I remembered the extra siding as a second route, which I think would more appropriately use the "SDG" legend.

Is there a standard for the legends that can be displayed and if so which would be the correct legend for which route?

Would "YD" be a suitable alternative to indicate Yard for the transfer terminal?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

There is no fixed rule, it probably depends on the signaling engineer who drew up the plans!

The recent signalling schemes seem to have single letters, examples are

A- arrivals

S- sidings

E- engineers

Y- yard

R- reception

B- branch

X- facing road towards limit of shunt

U- up

D- Down

Whatever you do, who is going to know the difference anyway ?

Dennis

Dennis - Erm, I will!

Thanks Andi, that could be useful as it would allow me to fit two stencils side-by-side within the width of a signal head.

Cheers,

Mark
