Ron Ron Ron
Forgive me if this is old news now, but I thought it might be of interest to those interested in plant and track machines, or in the electrification plan. The first unit of the first NR HOPS has arrived in the UK. RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted November 8, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 8, 2013 There's a lovely shiny new stabling and servicing area for it waiting at Swindon (plus lots of mast positions prepared for work between Reading and Dicot if not elsewhere). avonside1563
When i first saw the title I thought this was something to do with bringing part of the brewing trade back on rail, then I realised it was just the after effects of the end product.... Steadfast
There's a lovely shiny new stabling and servicing area for it waiting at Swindon (plus lots of mast positions prepared for work between Reading and Dicot if not elsewhere).Indeed, when I drove past on Sunday one the ex WCML electrification MPVs was stabled at Swindon, well one vehicle from it was, along with an Amey tamper. The MPV vehicles have been repainted from white to a shiny coat of NR yellow. Unfortunately I was driving at the time and also there's a big wooden fence in the way! jo
Michael Delamar
could do with something like that to clear trees and vegetation, something like the Crablogger from Thunderbirds.

Glorious NSE
The last link in Ron Ron Ron's OP, the Network Rail News release mentions electric freight locos. Have I missed something about new 25kV freight locos??? DRS have some Vossloh class 88s on order, a sorta "bi-mode" version of the class 68 that's on it's way. http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/single-view/view/drs-orders-10-electro-diesel-locomotives-from-vossloh.html No orders from anyone else yet (although DB Schenker, Freightliner and GBRF all roster electric loco's already)
