enginelane
In between Christmas meals managed a little more modelling. Shunter has all handrails and engine cover handles in place. Brass large head buffers added. Glazing has been cut to size but will be added after weathering. Need to be added are the lifting rings and plates on buffer beams, missing access door hinges and refitting the steps. Has been thoroughly run in and will have chip fitted and will then see what crew can be added.image.jpg All glazing, tanks and filler in place, weathered black frames and toned down the red coupling rods. Should be finished tomorrow as to have to wait in for a delivery
enginelane
Having looked at photos of the green shunter at Crossley Evans seems to be kept in better condition than the blue so earth wash with Vietnam earth the overall look with some grease staining around filler and it's ready to roll when Troutons is next erected

RichardEyre
That's the one. The address was wrong on the trolley decoder. Reprogrammed it on the power cab and it came to life. The rotation motor is fine one way and tries to turn the other but fails. Think there's a duff connection to the magnet but currently the strings need attention. Satan's Goldfish
Unfortunately Heljan aren't too useful with support for these. On the magnet issue, have you checked the contact brushes that touch each side of the drum that the wires coil onto between the 2 pairs of strings? The wires are good at intefering with them when loose.
RichardEyre
I think it's something like that. There's detangling work to be done anyway so hopefully it'll be obvious once I've got it apart.
enginelane
I think it's something like that. There's detangling work to be done anyway so hopefully it'll be obvious once I've got it apart. Getting there! Should have thought an about the CVs before. If it only turns one way surely it means it can bring out a container, just need to remember not to send back the other way. Perhaps there were limiters on movement which have been over ridden as crane did not come back to starting position before it then was asked to rotate the other way?
