RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted November 23, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 23, 2013 Looking at the chunks out of the quayside, I don't think that whatever fenders were supplied were quite up to the job. Regards Ian
62613
If I'd been in the mooring party, I don't think I would have remained standing so close to the mooring wire once it was over the bollard and the ship's windlass was heaving it in - it got very tight, and a parted mooring wire can easily take your legs off - or worse. Is this somewhere in the Adriatic?
Robert
Good heavens! Is this somewhere in the Adriatic? Greece, I believe. My Portuguese is not up to much - but the video description says that it is a small port in Greece.
RMweb Gold tomparryharry Posted November 25, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 25, 2013 Aaah, the Isle of Wight ferry, bless 'em.... I think that's a mooring rope, not a wire. Not so much kinetic energy in a rope. Ian
