As the Museum was the first Manchester Corporation Transport Bus Garage built in the early 1900's it doesn't have a car park but there is plenty of on street parking within easy reach of the museum. I have been using this for many years when visiting the museum and I have never had any problems and like anywhere these days just make sure nothing is left on display.

There is also the Manchester Fort retail park just a few minutes walk away from the museum which some people use, I am not sure what restrictions apply. We jokingly say you persuade the wife she might like shopping in Manchester and just happen to stumble across an exhibition near to the shopping venue!

Another possible alternative is to use a city centre car park and catch the Free Bus Service.

Fort shopping centre seems a bit manic trying to get on when I last went there at a weekend. They also have ANPR cameras I believe, and the notices say you are breaking the conditions for free parking if you leave your car there and go off-site on foot. Last time I did the exhibition I parked in  the street behind the garage.

If you are travelling to the show  via Metrolink, the nearest station is Queens Road (opposite their depot) . This is the next stop

out from Victoria  to Bury -now closed temporarily.

The walk down the road to the Museum from this stop is about 5-10 minutes depend on your personal mobility capabilities.

Due to sickness 'Tom's Rusty Yard' will not be able to attend, Young Tom's Grandma, who does the demos on the Smart Model stand is ill and unable to attend so Tom and his layout will be unable to attend.

All being well Brian of Smart Models still intends to come. We wish his mum a speedy recovery

I hope you've left enougth room for our barriers this year Peter!  :sungum:  Coppell is all packed and awaiting the arrival of the van and we will have some of Legomanbiffo's 'leccies' guest running for the weekend. If anybody wants a Touchcab demo, just ask one of the operators without dangly wires!  Kev.

I have been away this week in Birmingham at the ALBUM conference organised by Transport for Edinburgh and got a chance to ride on an Edinburgh tram! I am now catching up with MRX stuff and will be posting some updates later.

Blood sweat and tears now donated into the setup....and that's just trying to accomodate the various whims of the Jameaters from 59th and rust :sungum:

See you all there tomorrow - it's going to be a good one :-)

We visited today.  Nice to see a good variety of layouts in various gauges and a good mix of trade support.

Spent all our pocket money on a few bits.  The plentiful seating in the refreshment area was much appreciated as were the custard tarts and muffins.  Thanks to everyone for putting on a good show.

A few pics.

He spent most of Sunday trying to get me to part with them, and nearly succeeded! In the end I decided that the upcoming Dapol one would probably not have the room for the big speaker that is in this one.  We were also proud recipients of a pot.  As Ray says, many thanks to all who voted. Kev.

I've just been looking at the voting and comment slips and one says

"Too few layouts and too many traders"

We had 21 layouts and 23 traders! I wonder what they think constitutes a large exhibition!
