Pacific231G
I think the clues were "300m from his house" and "having a few beers". That's a tad bigger than the back gardens round here and I guess it wouldn't take long to get lost if it were impenetrable jungle (and you'd had a few) . Mike at C&M
My grandmother worked as a travel agent and travelled the world as a result, but my father always used to comment on her lack of sense of direction by saying that she couldn't navigate her way out of a paper bag. RMweb Gold 30851 Posted March 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 7, 2014 My neighbour nearly got lost in her back yard not long after she moved in -- she did manage to find her way out in the end without help. Sounds stupid but it is actually not that hard to do when you are talking about over 30 acres of very hilly overgrown forest. Rob
RMweb Premium TheQ Posted March 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 7, 2014 I've never got lost in my garden (1.5 Acres) but it took me 3 months to find the second well in it, 15 foot from the back door!! that tells wyou the state of the garden when i moved in and it's not that much better now (15 years)! RMweb Premium Sasquatch Posted March 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 7, 2014 When the puppies took off after a squirrel at the back end of last year I went stomping off after them down towards the creek in the snow and fog and seriously got lost on my own property! Couldn't tell which way was up or down. Could hear the creek but hadn't a clue which way that was and lost all trace of the dogs! To tell the truth having had a couple of Irish coffees didn't help! Ozexpatriate
The link in BBC story 404s, but this is from a column called "only in the territory". The key here is that this is the (Northern) "Territory" we're talking about. That's a significant reference point.
