WCML100 Posted September 9, 2015 Author Share Posted September 9, 2015 A small update on here for you guys: I have applied the next coat of paint to the main road and i am now preparing the surface for the station approach and once the has its road surface paint added i will continue with the station car park and shops parking areas in due course. I have had a load of transfers arrived and ready for application onto the road surface although i may need another few packs! I have pretty much all i need now to complete the road and pavements its just trying to find the time. I will start to make up the curb stones once the road surface is complete and paint these and then start to apply these down. I will then add the pavements using filler which will mean they need to be painted as well once dry. Hopefully when i get to this stage i will be adding all the detail and the putting back my fairly large collection of road vehicles. Most of the detail i already have ready to plant down on the layout. Some of the other bits need priming and assembling / modifying though. Omce thi is done i should be able to move onto where the station meets the entrance and merge the two areas together. WCML100 Posted September 27, 2015 Author Share Posted September 27, 2015 So here is the latest instalment... I have some progress on the layout to show you guys. It is on the Network Rail mess area. I have painted a dirty looking concrete surface (although still needs to be weathered and toned down!) and have started to position down road items and general mess. I have also positioned the AWS and relay boxes in place. I still think it looks a little bare though. I think it needs more random rubbish items etc to finish it off any ideas? Cable Trunking, Orange Piping, Signal equipment, rail offcuts, sleeper stacks, ballast bags, anything goes. I have attached some pictures of my Network Rail area, they may be some use to you. Also, if you havent already, check out my Permanent Way Depot topic ( http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/86640-permanent-way-depot/ ) , there are pictures of real depots, model depots and lots of hints and tips about what to have in them. I am trying to create something which would be better once the layout is fully up and running (if that ever happens). You will see this in either photos which i will post soon or in the upcoming update. I need some new ideas, does anyone have any decent tmd / depot layout plans.
