Going by the headcodes, we have:

C839 1H02 - 1240 King's Cross to Hull

C 1005 1S19 - summer only 1100 King's Cross to Edinburgh 

C1007 1E01 - 0800 Edinburgh to King's Cross

If it is a Pacer then definitely the 143 rather than the 142.

Those first two photos of Lolham are a good guide for modellers as to how the appearance of the countryside changes in a few months.

Back to the High Dyke photos, interesting that there were still fixed signals so late on what had always been a freight only branch (apart from the preservation activities of course).

And yes, a great view of that rather twisted LNER parcels van.

Agreed. C1007 is also not 9006 "THE FIFE AND FORFAR YEOMANRY", as it is a Haymarket Deltic with a single line name.  That limits it to 9000, 9004, 9013 or 9016. My immediate suspicion was that it was a typo for 9016. By a process of elimination:  it's not 9000, as it has a full width footstep above the bufferbeam;  it's not 9004, as the plate is too short;  it's not 9013, as it has a crest (13 lost its very early). Therefore it has to be 9016 "GORDON HIGHLANDER".

Good evening, David. That’s a great set of replacement photo’s of Lolham, on the ECML to the north of Peterborough. In the last photo’, of a class 25, 5280, on a down parcels train in July, 1972, you have a view with the train from a distance which is most atmospheric.
The latest photo’s of Stocksfield on the Newcastle to Carlisle line are excellent and show the somewhat better class of Pacer, the 143’s. In J09876, with 143017, on a Newcastle to Carlisle working in April, 1989, you can see that one of the black spots had been applied below the cab windows, but had been removed leaving some of itself behind.

Seriously, though, I have a soft spot for class 24s, 40s, 103s etc. in North Wales. We spent a touring holiday there, in 1971 and those glorious early images bring back some fond memories.

Good evening, David. That’s a delightful set of photo’s of North Wales in 1970 and 1979 at Tywyn. The first photo’, with class 24, D5077, on an up goods train in August, 1970, is an excellent composition, and you can see that the track, on the left, has blocks for the chairs to rest on, which are, every third one along, joined by a tiebar. In C4775, with a class 103, on a Pwlhelli to Machynlleth service, on the 10th August, 1979, you can see that the old track on the left had been lifted some time ago.

The Newcastle photo’s are an excellent selection, and in C13853, with 143324, on the 16th August, 1989, it can be seen how even the lowly Pacer makes a tremendous contrast to the work going on at the adjacent platform as part of the electrification of the station.

For today's replacements we go as far north as possible on the railway network to visit Thurso.  

 

Four of photos were taken in June 1969.  At the end of the university year a group of us hired a croft for a week to explore the far north.  Unusually for those days two of the group had a car so we were mobile.  Secveral of us liked railways so we could visit railway locations.  One day we went to Thurso and spent a little while at the station. 

 

As you will see from the image numbers these were taken just after I started to take colour slides, even then I knew I wanted more than just loco portraits.

 

The fifth photo was taken while Dad was on holiday in 1973.

I’m confident that all are truly excellent, but there is an apparent issue with JVol3206, JMImageG02, and JMImageF04. Sadly, in my iPad, in the browser Ghostery, they appear in red, with the trains and scenery in dark grey. I hope your originals of those three photo’s are all as they should be. I’ve just checked in Firefox, and unfortunately the issue is present in it too.

The last photo’, of Boston goods South Junction level crossing, as it was in August, 1970, is such a typical everyday scene, which has been so perfectly captured by your Dad.

I don't know why that should happen, those three should simply be in black and white, they are OK both on my PC and laptop, using Chrome.

 

They are also correct using Edge.

Thank you, David, Leander, and JeffP. Now, I’ve restarted my iPad, and also tried Chrome on it, along with Safari. And on my MacBook, in Safari, the issue with those three photo’s persists. I’ve checked my profile, in case it has got corrupted in some way, by signing out of RmWeb, and still the issue is present. I’m not sure what else I can do. But thanks for checking the photo’s out. Something is amiss somewhere. I will keep trying different things out.
