WD0-6-0
After buying a new loco earlier this week and deciding that my current exhibition layout plans were going ahead (slowly) without any real practice in things like scenery I decided a small layout to practice on was necessary. I found a small section of base board left over from my home layout and decided to use that, I then spent a couple of hours playing around with track plans using Hornby set track (which is probably what this layout will be made of) until I decided on a plan I liked, ill post some pictures when later. The shunters pole is an end to end layout designed as a possibly the kind of yard you might have near a branchline station. The name comes from the pub at one end of the layout. Modelling Martin
Looks good, i had a large layout and decided to make something smaller in the mean time like you- learnt a lot of lessons! Maybe consider other makes of track for your other layout? I only used Hornby because it was all i had, if i was going to do it again i would have chosen Peco, Gary
WD0-6-0
Possibly a little 'busy' maybe? What about fiddleyard(s)? steve I've already decided to trim the number of sidings and relocate one, as I said I have more photos to come when I get round to reducing the size of the file. Plus this one is only meant to practice on, if it's decent at the end of great if not oh well. I plan to use cassettes. But I like you wanted to learn from it.
WD0-6-0
The name sounded clever to me earlier but now it doesn't so I think I might change it, I'm also dropping the pub idea and going with all railway related buildings. Two of the sidings have been removed and I'm nearly ready to drill holes for droppers (when I get the wire)
CourthsVeil
… as I said I have more photos to come when I get round to reducing the size of the file… Hi WD, perhaps you have a look at this little tutorial…? And do you think of a run round loop? Anyway, a nice little project, like it. Go ahead this way! Regards Armin
WD0-6-0
Hi WD, perhaps you have a look at this little tutorial…?[/ thanks for that but unfortunately I'm using an IPad I completely forgot about those photos ill try and do them later. I think I may end up using the original baseboard for this one on another project but I have some other material which I will use for this one. Next time I'm able to get to it ill sort out the new wood.
