enginelane
Additional layers of weathering on 2 more gondolas. One will be in general traffic and the other in stone traffic so need to build up dust and waste stone.

The Bulford Model is very nice but does not like being propelled even though it is weighted

A bit simplified but made in the local workshops so that could be why there are variations!

enginelane
Last day of 2017 and Vimes Street still not completed, need to prioritise things a little better but garage being reshuffled once more to make room for stuff booted out of spare bedroom wardrobe as it’s to be redecorated. However a little time to organise another stock box and bring some order to the proceedings. Happy New Year to whoever looks in and 2018 - a year of completion!
enginelane
One aspect of adding bits to designs as you build is that the end product is not what you expected and it becomes a bodge. The Elm Street fiddleyard has become such a piece and will be rebuilt with more careful consideration to storage and legs as well as track work. enginelane
Unless the curve leading into the Elm Street fiddleysrd is altered on the main board then very little can be done to improve the lead into the yard. 2 x 4ft boards would have helped in the first place so designing it around the paste board was the problem in the first instance but you live and learn. Will scenic further down the fiddleyard and will concentrate on improved legs. Moving around yet again in the garage nearly done so hopefully running sessions will start soon! Meanwhile work on the rhubarb cameo on the club layout Stanley has come to a stop whilst refining the level crossing section is completed. So this morning added the roof boards to the transfer caboose.
enginelane
Mock up of extra building on Elm Street fiddleyard Might end the building before the switch mechanism. Plain wall with perhaps a few vents, flat roof ending with a facia plate with cutouts.
enginelane
At the 5 th and 7th fiddleyard toying with creating a cameo piece to extend the RIP track into a bigger facility.
enginelane
Decals added to the transfer caboose. The Matt varnish looks a little shiny.
enginelane
Very cold in the garage this afternoon but some progress made in creating the shell of the new buildings. Testing out clearance with a few freight cars
enginelane
Able to bring the new building into the house as glue set so at least some modelling in the warmth and after a 4 hour central heating repair then have warm radiators
enginelane
Early morning cat and stormy night meant slept in until 8am this morning but joy of realisation that I had not missed 30 mins work because I do not work anymore! Having back patio and drive redone next week so any clear time will be spent on clearing the patio ready for the work to be done but will let breakfast settle by doing just a bit of modelling
enginelane
Initial brick colour added and test fit roof with building in place. Will create the visible effect I want. Toying with adding a detachable Road overbridge as the final end of the layout and start of Elm Street fiddleyard. enginelane
Got too cold and wet yesterday and another bad night so hoping a little modelling will help improve mood this morning. Roadway for the bridge and final coat for the factory extension on the list this morning whilst listening to the final episode of Stone on iplayer Ended up adding concrete columns and courses onto factory building. Will add a basic fire escape Edited January 20, 2018 by enginelane
