MarkC
Rats! Looks as though I'll just miss this one, as I only expect to get home on Sunday evening from the ship I'm presently on. Hartlepool's always a good show too... Here's to a successful weekend, folks.

dibber25
Not involved any more, now that it is sponsored by one of our competitors but it has come a long way from the days when Malcolm Priestman and I put the school back together after the show. Glad to see it's going from strength to strength. Malcolm would be well pleased, I'm sure. Good luck! CHRIS LEIGH

jwealleans
i do not believe that that is still the case. Hornby Hobbies are sponsoring the show (although they no longer have any means of having a presence there), but Hornby Magazine have no involvement. steve1
Many thanks to Paul and his team for the invite. Jean & I had an excellent time and the layout ran fine, pity about the bulging road! steve PS Thanks also Alan & Chris for their assistance in packing up. 60526
I'll concur with that on behalf of the Kiln Road crew, good exhibition, also for our layout the right place for some of the public to appreciate a BR(NE) layout. After over an 8 hour drive up from the South coast on Friday, booked in the hotel, layout set up and running, then off for some refreshment - we couldn't believe that the first pub we went into was serving up GK Abbot and IPA fizz, so in one door and out of the other and then the 2nd pub was serving up the same, closed the door; and then by accident we found the White House and Black Sheep on the pump; so we didn't move on. But on Saturday we were led astray by one of the organsers who implied that we should go train spotting down Hartlepool Station where we found the Rat Race, what a place, what can I say. Penrhos1920
For me Alwinton was the star of the show simply because of the remarkable semaphore signals with working lamps. I was not impressed by one of the layouts that had removed nearly all of their stock well before the end of the show and left only one train running each way. Not what I paid my money to see.
