Dark colours and simple liveries get my thumb up. A livery that resembles a colour palette or loads of fancy patterns is very unattractive in my eyes. With that being said, I don’t think the 90 has ever looked bad in any livery it’s carried. 2
BelsteadLane
my 90 wish list is Anglia based liveries - One, NXEA, GA but I’m certainly pushing my luck there. A virgin one would be very welcome indeed so I can debrand it ... and they’d be useful for Anglian respray donors as after all, they carried virgin colours when they transferred over. personally think virgin stands a very high chance with Virgin being a popular livery amongst released rolling stock. Freightliner Racing Green also on the wish list as there’s currently no decal packs available with the correctly sized five-fanned bodyside FL logo or the logos on the fronts underneath the cab windows. id imagine FL G&H would come along before Racing Green does though.

Johnson Street IEMD
Thats pretty impressive, i wonder if they have modelled the point where the lines run into OLE, so those 90s can get some much needed ''juice'' from ''the knitting'' ?

The answer is I don't know - perhaps they have been towed in for a photo shoot - there's a couple of spotters sneaked into the picture!

Johnson Street IEMD
Multimodal 90019 joins WFJS pool, pictured alongside Jack (036) and Bellshill (018) just as the real world examples 90036, 90019, 90029 and 90039 have headed to Mossend (thank you to scoobynige on youtube for letting me share his video clip) ahead of suggested workings on Grangemouth to Daventry Malcolm Rail, joining 90020 and 90037 which were already there. FYI - re 90018 pictured here but not in service for a while. Bellshill is currently between the warm store (includes 90021 and 90040) and those locos in the long term store pool at Crewe IEMD (90s 017, 022, 025, 027, 030, 031, 032, 033 and 038), believed to be awaiting new wheelsets was the reason. Johnson Street IEMD
In the early hours of this morning Backbone (90039) and Bumblebee2 (90029) made their returns to active service on 4M30. I wish I had been able to be at Crewe station as the pair sat there for a good half an hour this morning waiting for a passing Dagenham bound EWS 66, which I caught in Stafford about two minutes before these beauts came through. MRDBLUE17
Great video Kat and very timely showing 90039 in Backbone livery. We have been working away on these and have just been given permission to launch them today at Rainbow Railways 90039 resprayed and artwork printed directly. https://rainbowrailways.co.uk/new-products/ Hope you like it thanks Mark 8
Johnson Street IEMD
hmmmmm very good Mark @MRDBLUE17 ... i was a bit critical of this when it first came out (being a close follower of the DB90s) as I think DB should have gone with an NHS championing livery like the Sir Tom Moore one or something along those lines - in such unprecedented times, yes I know DB did the keyworkers 66 (113) but something more people facing with the 90s and black and white liveries can be so punchy, as per the spinal design thing with Backbone. Gradually, its growing on me (no spine jokes) - and having seen the german DB electric locomotive which the design inspiration / template came from, there can at least be some sense of synergy with this design - interesting that it is the first DB Cargo UK locomotive to be branded ''DB Cargo'' as opposed to large DB logos or as previous DB Schenker, and nicely presented to the world at Crewe IEMD (with Malcolm in the background) is it Malcolm level of impressive, no ... is it Christine level, hmmmmm no but its not bad (IMHO of course) yet regardless I could see myself having both of those in time. Whilst you were working on that this week, i was capturing the different liveried DB90s through Stafford this week, all on my youtube channel ''Johnson Street IEMD, with a few Freightliner ones for good measure. 90011 Freightliner ex-GA 90014 Freightliner G&W orange 90049 Freightliner Powerhaul 90019 DB Cargo '' Multimodal'' 90020 DB ex-Grand Central (Bumblebee3) 90029 DB ex-Grand Central (Bumblebee2) 90036 DB minus Schenker ''Driver Jack Mills'' 90037 DB Glider livery ''Christine'' 90039 DB I am the backbone of the Economy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnJHJwwBox-EvXPPExBDvlA/videos PS - I saw Backbone twice this week - but forgot i was about to see it on the smaller five vent side second time round ... I'm looking forward to seeing the larger branding side soon. Kat@johnsonstreetIEMD Edited March 27, 2021 by DBC90024
Johnson Street IEMD
@MRDBLUE17 how come your colleagues and you didn't do an EWS or Virgin one first ? The Backbone bone is striking but maybe alot more specialised given that not many people have even seen it or will do in the near future. Maybe those two liveries will appeal to a wider audience. Kat@johnsonstreetIEMD Hi Kat, I personally want to see 90037 in it’s faded EWS livery with DB stickers to go with my plain ex DRS blue 90034. (I managed to get that one through). It all comes down to what’s a bit different like the Glider/Malcolm livery and now the Backbone. We had a lot of requests for Greater Anglia and have done 2 different ones so far. The Freightliner Over the Rainbow has been popular as well. I’m convinced Bachmann will do a DB red release at some point and we are working on etched nameplates in the hope they do appear. Let us know what you’d like to see as we just might do them in the future. thanks Mark 1
