First two point motors installed today on the junction, just need to solder the connections to the frogs then I can fit the motors to the trailing crossover.  Off for two days after tonight so hopefully I can get that all done and tested.

All the wiring is now complete and all point motors are now installed and working and I’ve sober a good hour testing everything but I’m not happy with the gaps on a couple of the frogs so I might have a muck around with them at some point.

I’ll do a video tomorrow but for now here’s a couple of pics.

D326 heads towards Edge Hill with short rake from Fazakerley PW yard

And a 350 shunter heads toward Edge Lane servicing point with tanks

Edge Lane serving point I hear you all ask?…….

As mentioned yesterday I wasn’t happy with the vee’s, the gap just looked to big and wrong so today I replaced them all apart from the ones on the diamond crossing, I will do these though, using oo-sf gauges.

And here’s the latest video with a bit of track building chat and D1801 testing all the track that’s down so far.

Nothing to update as such other than I’ve made a huge error when drawing up my Templot, now most of you wouldn’t even notice it but I know it’s wrong and I see it glaring at me every time I look at it so it’s back to the drawing/Templot board 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

Printed off the Templot today along with a second copy of each point and the junction, I always find building the vee’s etc away from the original plan with sorrowed attached much easier.  I’m also going to get some new 12mm ply for the track bed rather than the 9mm which I used previously.

Something I’ve not used before but which I ordered the other day are check rail chairs so that should be interesting when it comes to building the points.

As for the mistake on the previous one, the 6’ wasn’t 6’ it was just over 7’ and I just couldn’t live with that, stupid I know!

A not so fun weekend as I broke my toe on Friday so that’s a few days off work 🙄 but various bits have an arrived in the post.

So tonight I’ve glued some of the Templot sheets together which will be used to make the crossing vee’s etc away from the main plan.  On the main Templot I’ve started marking out the point rodding and sleeper lengths.

Out with the old and in with the new, I’ve removed all the wiring and point motors today and I’ve started removing the track, which will be used as reclaimed track heading for Fazakerkey PW depot, just need to paint and weather it up.  This rake of 30t bogie bolsters and brake van are all re-gauged and ready to go.

With half term over and still off with the toe I cracked on with staining the new board of which I’ve used 12mm rather than 9mm this time.  The new Templot is also now stuck down and I’ve done a new video although it’s just a quick one covering what’s gone on over the last couple of weeks but does show photos from my earlier efforts.

Yesterday I managed to get all the remaining timbers and sleepers glued down and painted, I also made the first two vee’s. Today I’ve got the first 60’ section of track down and the first stock rail which allowed the first two vee’s to also be fixed into position.  Hopefully I can get more chairs threaded tonight so I can crack on in the morning getting the rail fixed into position.

Managed to prep some rail with chairs last night which is a good job really as I only got about an hour modelling time today. The first common crossing is complete and I’m working towards the trailing crossover now.
