Looking like you have laid in a curve through that diamond Paul? Looks great! Waiting for mine to arrive from Marcway…

I have Phil 😉 took a bit of playing about on Templot to figure out how to do it but got there in the end.  I never thought to be honest and you had already ordered yours when we last spoke but I could of made one for you sorry.

A good days modelling has seen all the cosmetic chairs fitted and all turnouts are complete including the tiebars, I can now carry on with the catch point and the remaining straight sections.  As a little break from track building I’ve also made a start on the cable trucking.

Todays work has seen the continuation of sleepers on the up and down lines heading away from the junction I’ve also cut the retaining wall from slaters 7mm dressed stone, thankfully I found the original sheet used for my last attempt in 4mm.

Hopefully a new video tomorrow

Not much modelling done today but I have continued the track on the up main with another two 60’ lengths built, I’ve also done a video covering the threading of chairs and fixing them into position.

I'm still trying to incorporate the junction into the big train set, but the wall just kind of gets in the way!

Bear in mind, anybodies offerings are going to be at least as good as mine, so beggars can't be choosers!

Can’t wait to see the old ELJ in your layout mate, seen some photos of your progress the other day it’s coming along rather nicely 👍🏼

Midway through a week of early’s means not much modelling as I’m up at 3am each morning but I have threaded the chairs for the remaining sections of track that need competing and I’ve laid the last 60’ section on the down main.

Not much progress but at least it’s something.

Thankfully my seven days of early’s are over so a bit of modelling time tonight.  The catch point is more or less finished, just need the slide chairs fitting so u can now turn my attention to wiring it all up and fitting the cobalts.

Haha if all my stock was magically re-wheeled over night I’d consider it but I like getting things out of the box and plonking them on the track 😂

Wasn’t happy with the catch point so I’ve reduced the angle and I think it looks far better, so that’s more or less all the track built on board number one.  The track building team have started moving stuff off site and the weathering gang have arrived ready to perform their magic once the the electricians do their job.

An hour today has seen the down line all wired up and it works perfectly with D1958 having the pleasure to be the first loco to run under its own power, up line next then I’ll install the Cobalts.

Wiring gang have been working late into the nigh and the up line is nearly all wired up but not without a few injuries.  I little advice to anyone without a pair of wire strippers, buy some as using a craft knife to remove the insulation is not clever, being a tight @ss results in blood loss!!

You're going backwards in the wiring department, MK1 didn't come in a blood spattered state!!

Mike.

It was scrubbed and sterilised before being exported!  I also had some wire strippers back in those days 🙄 I’ve ordered some new ones though, three times I stabbed myself 😂

Had a couple of hours before work so the last of the droppers have been soldered onto the rails and both the up and down lines are fully wired up, just need to install the Cobalt point motors which in hoping I can get done over the next couple of days.

Here’s D1958 testing out the track work, pretty pleased considering the frogs aren’t wired up yet hence the jittery running over some of the frogs.

Thanks Phil, I think I need to tweak the odd rail on one of the points but that’s one good thing about hand built track you can remove and alter bits without affecting to much else.  I’ve also been acquiring a few wagons to I might actually have a full length train to show off soon 🤗
