Thanks, yes that makes more sense. Not quite sure why the link in the OP went in that way but there you are.

The original link was for the mobile phone version of the page - notice the 'm.' at the beginning of the url .

Some nice Scammell illustrations assume from real life , particularly like the Wightlink Townsman with reversed arrows .

Ref the reversed arrows, if I re call wasnt the double arrow on the sealink ferrys reveresed? If thats right...then why? Some sort of distinction from the railway?

Never got that one!

Reversed only on the port side of the funnel. So the arrow always pointed to the bow.

Reminded me of 'Station Taxis' that I saw in Doncaster on Saturday, with wrong way double arrows on the cab doors.

Unfortunatly all pure fiction. The sort of thing some body copies and it appears on layouts or even worse a manufacturer sees and copies, then people think it must be right.

My little rant, but I'm sorry, I do like to see things right. I do not believe that if it's on the internet , it must be right.

A very bad example is the Scammell Scarab in Swindon museum in GWR livery. Should know better.

Ok when I try link , the picture is narrow  at first so are you clicking on the right  rh side tab ?

Shame about the Sealink story of the arrow being reversed to form an S is fiction , some people are inventive!! Totally agree about keeping the written word correct .

I rather like the style of the illustrations though .

My 1st thought that the sd bus, and the one on the left were preserved Blackpool buses. However the white one on the right - J411NCP - I googled, and came up with Wealden PSV Sales, and another Flicker pic, with the tail end of the BRUFF on it! Does this help at all? Maybe this dealer could tell you where it is?

Following business at etches park by a friend today , sadly these two are no longer there. The area where they sat is being built on, so who knows what happened, if anybody knows would be interesting!

 Andy,

the large lettering "EMERGENCY RAIL RESCUE", was only applied to those BRUFFs in EWS service, all the other BRUFFS had varients of BR lettering or other "localised" lettering.

The only problem with the "Southern" BRUFFS, they used Lukas lifting equipment, which used a single control pipe, whereas the rest of the country used twin pipe MFD lifting equipment.

The one shown is a Lukas varient. Other than that it looks to be remarkibly original,

Cheers

Thank you - I didnt know about the differences in control gear, typical of the southern to want something different!

And I forgot there was bruffs and the like not owned by EWS,  the one in that picture doesnt look too bad, depending of course when the pic was taken!

In this months Classic and Vintage Commercial, there is an ex BR Dodge Commando crewbus for sale, been convereted into a hippy home "needs tidying and a sympathetic new owner" hmmmm.......

The reg might be GGO 8 or 5 or 6  then 93X

Nearest thing in my lists is GGD596X and 598X were Dodge crew buses . Scottish Region.  So looks like it's GGD593X.
