JZ
Showing my ignorance of the subject here, but how were the points in goods yards operated. I am modelling, loosely, Binegar on the S&D and cannot find any pictures of the yard, so my presumption is; the points from the mainline have movements controlled by ground signals, these would obviously be worked from the box. Points from the yard with signals would also be operated from the box. Would the other points be operated with a simple point lever ?

RMweb Premium melmerby Posted November 17, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 17, 2014 Looking at a signal box diagram (An Historical Survey of the S&D - OPC, 1979) the points without signals are the one into the Mendip Stone Works from Down Siding No.1 and the ones on the south side of Down Siding No.2. All other points are controlled by ground signals - a total of 9 including the platform crossover Keith
