chrisf
On page 161 of Russelll's Appendix Vol 1, plate 413, is an official photograph of the gangway adaptor. Unhelpfully it does not also show the endplate but it's a start! Chris
chrisf
On page 246 of Vol 2 of Russell's Pictorial Record, fig 423, is a photo of VIP saloon 9001. It carries an endplate which fits the British standard gangways like a glove and the adaptors can be seen sticking out from behind the endplate. westerner
Have now transferred both sides and given them a coat of satin varnish. Just the glazing to do and some light weathering on the under frame and roof.
70021 Morning Star
. Lovely, it looks just like a real Hornby ! Only kidding. That's looking superb, Alan. Do you intend weathering it, or keeping it nice and pristine? Rick
westerner
Rick the under frame and roof will be weathered and possibly the door hinges etc.

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 14, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 14, 2016 Are you sure about that? The purpose of the adaptor was to allow GW/LMS gangways to couple to the Pullman type fitted to Mk 1s. If coupled they would not need endplates [except on our models where they form the rubbing plate] and why would BR go to the expense of replacing all the old endplates? Chris They didn't.
