Andy Y
A couple/few years ago one of the classic car mags did a bookazine I recall seeing in Smith's which was basically large images of street scenes featuring classic cars. Could anyone furnish me with a title/publisher etc so I could have a search on the secondhand market please?

RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted December 11, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 11, 2014 If you're after details of street furniture, houses and details generally, then look for bus photographic albums, mostly by definition urban locations, and usually the books are set by era. RMweb Gold russ p Posted December 11, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 11, 2014 Have a look on you tube for a series of films called a look at life. Loads of 50s and 60s road scenes and quite a few railway ones too
RMweb Gold DaveF Posted December 11, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 11, 2014 For street furniture, shop fronts people etc some of the bus and tram DVDs are worth looking at. David
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted December 11, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 11, 2014 I am about to throw out a lot of old Practical Classic magazines (well after Christmas anyway). They usually feature historic street scenes every month so it would not be difficult to 'fillet' them before disposal.
stewartingram
Same here, I have a large pile of them in my garage loft from the early days. Anyone who can collect from Cambridgeshire is welcome to them. Stewart

Andy - That sounds very much like a magazine I bought called, I believe, "Classics On Every Corner". Not sure where my copy is at the moment due to a house move back in April, but the title might give you something to go on. Regards Dan

balernodave
A couple/few years ago one of the classic car mags did a bookazine I recall seeing in Smith's which was basically large images of street scenes featuring classic cars. Could anyone furnish me with a title/publisher etc so I could have a search on the secondhand market please? Did you ever trace a copy of this bookazine? I remember one called something like "A nostalgic look at streetscenes of the 1950s" with B&W photo of cars parked on a street on the front in W H Smith and I have never been able to find a copy on the net or at events, even my local W H Smith did not remember selling it.
