Garden Sheds

Recommended Posts

Just about to go out and try to finish the base, have managed to keep a large Azalea bush in front of the front corner, perhaps a rose arch in front of the door and need a space for a very large Fuchsia bush which on reflection can go under the side window. Camouflage is what it needs, Groundforce never have these problems !!

We've had various sheds in the back garden, ranging from the frankly crude 1960s construction on the site of the present extension, to two or three assorted small garden sheds, to the present 10'x8' shed on a flagged base, and nobody has ever shown any interest. The contractor who constructed the present shed advised us that the local planners regarded a flagged base as a "shed" but a slab, particularly one with a membrane might well draw attention, so we took him at his word.

Shed now moved, Azalea masking one corner, a few dirty footprints as sides and ends were coaxed into position. Need to fit one pane of glass (today's job) and metal window bars. Moving it from the centre back wall of the garden to the corner has opened up the garden, even when standing on the new building line the garden looks bigger.

On a serious note as my tools will now be in the shed, I am upping security with two additional locks and window bars, the shed thankfully is much stronger than those which are sold in the DIY outlets. And making a locked cupboard for the power tools etc. Hopefully the time and trouble making the base for the bearers to sit on will pay off in the long term
