ahardy
Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have recently bought a Golden Arrow kit for a SR O1 class. I'm looking for some castings and details to improve the model and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction, preferably someone I can order from online. I'm looking for: Ramsbottom safety valve Whistle Steam Reverser Lamp irons including the smokebox mounted type. Handbrake Clack Valves If anyone is able to help me and ease my confusion I would be grateful. Andy
pete_mcfarlane
Try Branchlines - he does a kit for the O1 and most of the bits are available as spares. They are quite good. South Eastern Finecast do suitable lamp irons, and also spares from their kits which may be useful.
Horsetan
Try Branchlines - he does a kit for the O1 and most of the bits are available as spares. They are quite good... Better than the kit that they are part of.
SRman
Markits also offer several types of safety valves and clack valves, plus handrail knobs and smokebox door darts (if they are needed - I can't remember off-hand for the O1). They are not always easy to get though, especially from here in Australia.

pete_mcfarlane
Better than the kit that they are part of. Did you ever finish the O1 that you posted pics of a few years back?
s_ellinson
I'd go with SEF - he's very good about supplying bits. Which reminds me that i must order some bits and bats for my LCDR "T" class. It's a "Q" kit, probably the worst whitemetal kit I've ever built! Stewart
Horsetan
Did you ever finish the O1 that you posted pics of a few years back? No. I've had to rethink the entire bottom half as it wasn't good enough.
SRman
I'd go with SEF - he's very good about supplying bits. Stewart I agree with this wholeheartedly, Stewart. I phoned SEF from here in Oz, wanting a single N15 dome. He posted the item in double-quick time at a very reasonable overall cost to me. All in all, a pleasure to deal with and very responsive to customers. If only all firms could be like this.
bigbadbadge
Both SEF and Branchlines are very good with shipping parts, both sent very quickly when ordered and were a pleasure to deal with. All the bestChris
