And now into the main hall, probably repeating many scenes already done!

Once again, many, many thanks indeed to Nick and all the exhibitors for putting on such a great show and thanks also to the caterers for some wonderful scran!

Cheers,

John E.

My apologies Pete,

As Daniel has already stated, it's dialect for "food" (grub, nosh and many others are available!) I think it's a fairly northern expression - I'm originally from Derby and now live a few miles further north, halfway between Liverpool & Manchester, having mates who talk like Fred Dibnah doesn't help!!!

Wi aye!

John.

Oh dear, picking up the bad habits from " 'oop North"...!! :O ;)

"Top Scran" is a Liverpool saying as I understand it. "Good Food", in English. "Bostin Fittle" in Black Country (even more obscure than the Scouse saying!!! :sungum: )

Jordan, Your son is doing well on whatever you call it - he must have grown a foot in height (as opposed to an extra limb) in the past year....

On tires (USA) a lot of brands pre-1910 were actually white, i.e. before they put “carbon-black” in the mix - otherwise I totally agree with your comments.

Best, Pete.

I know!! A few regular visitors to this Show commented on the day how he's grown!! From the photos John/Allegheny posted, it's good to note a few other youngsters getting involved too.

Yes, it wasn't so much the existence of a pile of tyres (sorry - 'tires') I thought slightly out of place - more the type of tire depicted!! ;)

I need to stay in, more...

Not skinny enough? Yep, big, skinny tires are what you need in the absence of Tarmac....

Best, Pete.

Rolson do a 225 piece rubber O ring assortment- lots of different sizes - a couple of boxes may cover it - and a quick hunt on ebay may find them,  although they are black, and not white

Does that mean you are officially back from your USA trip Rob?

Nick - myself and Ford will be back if you'll have us. Not sure on which layout we'll be bringing yet, as we are in the planning stages of an O scale layout - but it depends on the realism of the project before we commit to anything!
