We have just discovered that a "what's on" web-site is incorrectly showing the date of the show as the 4th April.

Please ignore that  - the dates are 25th & 26th April 2015

We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi,

It's now less than a week to go.  The Chairman has given his pep talk; final arrangements are being put into action; and we're looking forward to welcoming our excellent visiting layouts, demonstrators and traders.

Hope to see lots of you there.

Cheers,

Dave

Sorry can't make it this year as we are in Liverpool with St Merryn.

Looks like I'm going to be missing another great Epsom show.

If you can make it to Epsom this coming weekend then I'm sure you won't be disappointed

Enjoy

Steve

My local show too and was the first show I went to when I got into this hobby 5 years ago. Been to every one since and they've all been worth a visit. The venue also has a very large car park (for about 600 I believe) so that has never been a problem.

It is very handy for rail travellers.  Ewell East, about 5 minutes from the venue, is right at the edge of the Travelcard Zone 6.

With that comes a cautionary tale.  Bargains are often to be had on the second-hand stall.  One year I picked up a complete run of Trains Illustrated, save for the very rare July 1959 issue, for £15.  It came in three lumpy carrier bags.  At this point I remembered that I had travelled by train.  My valuable cargo did reach home safely, after crossing London by tube, but only just: one of the carrier bags gave way as I was alighting from the taxi at home.

Totally agree with David above. Some really nice layouts on display with plenty of trains running and some lovely modelling. I particularly liked (in no specific order of preference) Hospital Gates, Red Hook Bay, New Hey and the "Home Team's" Hinksey Yard.  To be perfectly honest though I didn't see anything to dislike.

Five minutes from the station?  What have you got on your feet...rockets?

Stout hiking boots, since you ask.   It took me five minutes [09.46 - 09.51] to stride purposefully from Ewell East station to the entrance of the NESCOT campus.  It took another four minutes to reach the end of the queue though.

The journey was worthwhile with plenty of good layouts and a fine selection of trade.  However, I don't recall having to make my own tea before.   Managed not to bump into Penrith Beacon again and no doubt missed other inmates who were there.
