SDJR7F88
With Winter coming in fast, it's nearly time to get the Garden Railway ready for it's Winter Hibernation, but before that, some progress and changes have been made. This includes ballasting the new extension, the reconfiguration of the isolating sections, plus some improvements to the embankments, as well as a spot of weeding...Though this maybe the last update for the railway this year, there's still plenty of G Scale content to come, including Reviews, a Rolling Stock Update, plus an exciting new addition too...Hope you enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biBQg9T52Es
SDJR7F88
Live Steam finally arrives on the Blagdon & Butcombe Railway! A short test run of the recently acquired Regner Konrad, my first Live Steam Locomotive for the G Scale Garden Railway. A superb little machine, that handles the tight curves and un-even track of the B&BLR with ease. Though only powered by a simple 1 cylinder oscillating engine, she is a smooth and powerful runner. Being a geared engine, she can crawls along a very realistic speed, perfect for the railway. Here we see the Konrad, light engine, on one of her first test runs on the railway. Massive Thanks for Jon for purchase and showing me the ropes on how to operate her. Hope you enjoyed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klqm4XlciMo

Jongudmund
Yeah it looks it. Was it particularly pricey?
SDJR7F88
Yeah it looks it. Was it particularly pricey? £350 second hand, which is certainly not bad a price looking around at them. The owner was kind enough to bring her down to my railway and show me the ropes, as well as including everything I needed to get her running (I.e Steam Oil, Gas, and even water too)
Jongudmund
Do you need special distilled water? I guess so otherwise mineral deposits would build up in the mechanisms.
SDJR7F88
Do you need special distilled water? I guess so otherwise mineral deposits would build up in the mechanisms. Indeed, the previous owner recommend De-humidifier water. As it has not dirt or mineral in it that can build up in the boiler and cause trouble in the future. SDJR7F88
Recently arrived Accucraft 'Caradoc' 0-4-0T, No.1 'Eamont', undergoing a quick test run on the Blagdon & Butcombe Light Railway.Fitted with Radio Control, Cylinder Drain Cocks, Chuffer and Whistle, she makes a superb addition to the B&BLR Fleet. Massive thanks to Stephen, and Matt of Barley Pit Works for the service and delivery. Apologizes for the loud noise at the beginning, as I believe I had the burner up a bit too high. After some more test runs and getting use to the controls, I hope to bring you more videos of 'Eamont' in action on the railway.Hope you enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zfc6l2DBbS8&spfreload=
