Hi Andy,

As an exhibitor of "At the Seaside" just like to say a big thanks for looking after us all so well.

Great school/venue and really nice people.

Nice to meet and have a chat with so many people, even if I didn't know you were on here!

I Hope everyone who came by enjoyed themselves and please remember the layout may have Thomas and Percy on for kids to play with but we are all kids at heart so if you see the layout with nobody playing, then feel free to have a go!

Thanks again.

Ian

Nice little show, well laid out given the small size of the rooms. Nice little school as well. Hope it raised much needed funds for the library.

Only stayed for 15mins as I was running late for a meeting in the afternoon, but I made an appearance, first show of any sort that i've visited for 4 years :)

Super show Andy. A superb selection of layouts. It was really nice to meet and chat with so many people and I thoroughly enjoyed operating West Shed with Andrew P. The bacon butties, pastries, and afternoon cake kept the team going - we can't wait for next year !!!!!

The school library will hopefully benefit from all of your hard work.

Best wishes

Jeff (binny)

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who exhibited or visited our show today. Thanks to some last minute substitutions (thanks again 50030 and Werrington Road) we achieved a record 20 layouts at the show. There was a steady stream of people through the morning, and we were quite busy at times. The show thinned out at lunch before picking up briefly in the afternoon. From what we can gather there were more people from outside of the school community and less children and families from the school. Perhaps the model railway novelty has worn off a little amongst the none enthusiasts from the school. That said we sold out of bacon cobs, dinners and even raffle tickets! The result was a record profit of £1050.

So once again a massive thank you to all who helped make the show a success. Thanks to those who took time to make kind comments on this page and at the show. I will post a more detailed account of the show on my blog tomorrow, and I will post my pictures from the day. If anyone else took pictures please do post them on here, I would love to see them.

My final thank you goes to Andy Sharpe (leopard of this site) who arrived before the show and helped with setting up mine and another layout. Despite working hard all morning he insisted on paying his admission and then headed off without getting an operating turn. That will definitely be rectified next year!!

Finally congratulations goes to Peter Akiens whose layout "Canal Park Station" won the "Best in Show" award, narrowly pipping last year's winner "Up the Line" as well as West Shed and Foster Street in a closely contested vote.

I am now off to bed, I am bushed!!

Here are the pictures I took at the show yesterday. Sadly time prevented me from getting around every exhibit so I am hoping for other people to post some pictures on here.

Great to hear that the show was a sucess Andy. It's vital that attractive libraries are developed wIthin a school environment, so well done for raising over £1k. In a previous life I was literacy co-ordinator in a primary school, so looked after the library (and tried to fend off book reps.....)

If I lived nearer I'd have come, if only to wind-up Andy P.

An enjoyable day at Weston on Saturday exhibiting Werrington road, good to see Andyram, Mason, Andrew P and traction among others. Thank you to my 8 year old son who took charge of operating the layout for the majority of the day and just didn't want to give it up, my dad and me hardly got a look in. Anyway a couple of pics of the layout.post-10257-0-18548000-1447692526_thumb.jpegpost-10257-0-71136400-1447692830_thumb.jpegpost-10257-0-93047900-1447692965_thumb.jpegpost-10257-0-08282100-1447692978_thumb.jpegpost-10257-0-35328400-1447692995_thumb.jpegpost-10257-0-86089600-1447693030_thumb.jpeg
