Rugd1022
FLHH drivers from various depots are conducting the HSTs over this route, as well as the ones going via the Chiltern to Banbury and down to Oxford. I'll be on the Chiltern diversions next week and there has been some confusion as to what speed we'll actually be doing between Old Oak and Aynho Junction..... let the chaos begin! Southernman46
Quick update - I've downloaded the timings and just need to put them in an excel file - should be able to do this over the next couple of days and then post file in thread. Would be less work to just post the TRUST pages but there's a unique user ID on each page and I have a career to think about....... Freights are running 27/12 - 31/12 via Thingley Jn - Didcot North Jn , HST's 28/12 - 30/12 via Bathampton. The XC services are Bomo - Basing only Will give timings for respective freight / HST trains at Worting Jn , Romsey, Salisbury , Westbury, Thingley Jn , Bathampton Jn. 6B33 will run via the B&H Is there anybody out the that can advise of the best spots to photograph between Warminster & Thingley Jn please ?? Steadfast
That's very kind of you, I look foward to the Excel file! There are a few locations in the section you mention - I'm not sure of the exact locations not knowing the Warminster area very well, but pop Arn Hill into fotopic for what's not a bad shot. Westbury is difficult if the sun's out for northbounds, as you are shooting close to due north - south, though decent shots can be had Heading north, I've not explored round Trowbridge, though Broughton Gifford, between Bradford Jn and Thingley offers these shots: Looking towards Chippenham Looking towards Westbury This shot is near Lacock, it's a bit of a wander into a field, but you can shoot both ways, close up against the fence like this or wider across the field Thingley Jn: Just the other side of Chippenham is Langley Burrell Slightly further east is this embankment, near a hamlet called Kellaways Another mile or two east is Christian Malford - these two are shot from opposite ends of the same bank Hope this helps you out a bit! cheers jo
