  2. Very nice. Any plans to do the version with the guards caboose? And a broad gauge version? I think that the ends of the floor planks though be covered with a continuous curb rail rather than showing the ends of the floor planks. drduncan

  3. I keep away from PVA as it locks everything up solid. My wife got me on to Copydex and I would normally use it at a contact adhesive for sticking the closed cell foam to the Plywood, as Simond has said most latex glues are fine and thanks for the heads up with screw fix as I use diluted Copydex to set the ballast My local store was out of Copydex and suggested I use a product called "Extreme" by Schtuk, I use this now for most jobs that require sticking in DIY jobs, its great for sticking things to walls, brick etc. Its done the job and stick the Closed Cell foam to the ply whilst keeping the foams charistics. I also use a super glue for some woodworking jobs, mitre bond. Excellent product

  5. Looks like its coming along nicely. I find that Copydex works better for the foam than PVA (less noisy), but you probably knew already.

  6. I suppose everyone else will know the answer to this, but: Those Tau, are they Saal, La, Ui, Vre, El, or O ? PS: I have no idea what I'm talking about, just got curious and visited a site describing Tau ranks

  7. I think some greasy spots on the buffers, paint the buffer shanks silver and some oily stains around the fuel tanks will be enough. Perhaps some more brakedust on the bogie frames also.

  8. Thanks Steve, I'm reasonably happy with the outcome. I used humbrol enamel matt spray as opposed to my normal acrylic matt to seal the powders and i wouldn't recommend this as it gave a real splatter effect and frosted. I found brushing the frosting away worked and gives the body sides a faded look.

  9. You've done well there David. I like the look of the roof, something that's not easy to get right but probably the bit that's seen the most. Most loco's I remember had absolutely filthy roofs. Good stuff! Steve

  10. Just uploaded the underframe to Shapeways - a few minor wall thickness warnings om some of the details but hopefully these will not stop them from printing it.

  11. I Like that David, the worn effect and the metalwork looks good. How did you deal with the underframe, were they dry powders on top of matt paint or did you mix the powders with decalfix? Steve.
