  1. Seriously? your picking apart Hornby on this? they will be working through orders like any other online retailer. I've had two Hornby pre-orders come into stock this week, i got notifications and 2 days later they arrived. Now go and look over another thread, people wait weeks for items that have arrived, some get them straight away, others are 3/4 weeks behind.
  2. my Hornby ones turned up yesterday. I've took some pics so will post shortly. I also have the Arnold ones from earlier in the year so i'll do a back to back comparison, i suspect they will be the same, why would they not be.
  3. wow, that's stunning, i really thought it was real, only the tension coupling on the front gives it away.
  4. think i found that earlier today. i had reset cv 8>8 last night and did not work. i did the same tonight and it worked, go figure
  5. just stumbled across this and i'm having the exact same issue, i've had the stanc03 stay alive fitted by a reseller of zimo sound decoders so i trust in their work. did this get resolved? following allot of web searching, this seems to have happened to a few people with no resolution, @Vincent Hamp any suggestions please?
  6. Question time please, my loco arrived back from having a stay alive fitted. Ran fine for about 5 mins then got stuck going backwards, would not respond to throttle or direction commands. Sound commands still worked. shut everything off, powered backup and now the loco won’t move, sounds still work fine. Now I would start to think motor but interestingly when I apply throttle I don’t get the sounds of movement. Anyone experienced this? Will setting cv 8 to value 8 reset things? Before I sent it back to the shop for them to look at it want to cover the basics and obvious tests. Thanks
  7. That has more to do with google advertising than the search algorithm though, and to be fair also depends allot on how the web site is constructed, and if you pay google to be at the top.
  8. What a good idea, it would be the same members over and over though, very boring and monotonous. my comment in regards the other supplier was before they offered a life time warranty, which in its self is great and to applauded but that only came about because numerous products started to exhibit issues. anyway this thread is about the price rise so let’s get it back onto that. im tempted to spend my reward points on Hornby site now,
  9. Another new comer openly said on this forum they won't carry spares for their loco's. That got no come back, yet here you are bashing Hornby who do carry spares, numerous on-line shops carrying spares. they may not have the spare you want but they carry allot of other spares for a huge back catalogue. Hornby customer services are great in my experience, i have never had an issue, with in warranty and out of warranty work, very quick turn around with really good comms. Hornby are going to be up against it with the price increase, others are increasing prices as well but they are starting from a lower price point. As others have said Hornby can and do produce second to none to products but they are hit and miss, asking to pay top dollar comes with Risk for Hornby products, that's the issue in reality. None forum members might be none the wiser, for us we look at it through our prism that is not representative of their wider customer base.
  10. this looks a bargain, Hornby N15 King Arthur Class 741 Joyous Gard SR https://www.modellbahnunion.com/OO-gauge/Locos-OO/Steam-locomotive-N15-King-Arthur-Class-741-Joyous-Gard-SR.htm?shop=modellbahn-union-en&a=article&ProdNr=Hornby-R30273&p=1064
  11. Funny you should mention your Adams radial, mine does exactly the same thing over my live frogs. Track has to be spotless. I did change the motor to a coreless and it did improve the running by some margin.
  12. Well my replacement caps arrived, installed without the boiler fitted and ran for hours, fitted the boiler and lasted 5 mins. 99% sure my mistake has been not insulating each wire, I’ve shorted them. To that end took the loco to the Loughborough show and gave it to coastal dcc to fit. Could be 2 weeks to 2 months.
  13. Not sure everything is over priced and not worth it. The p2 steam and sound version was £269 (ish) at the retailers, how can you say that was lacking features?
  14. At last At last someone is brave enough to stick their head above the parfait, double standards on this forum, and mr Sam trains can’t help but pick out Hornby on price rises. As said at least they have give due notice, chance for people to get their orders in or make that purchase!
  15. i did call them but it was months on the waiting list. decide to do it my self and bought the staco3 stays alive, wired in series to the decoder ground and common pads. works a charm, about 15-20 seconds of stay alive. well it was good for a couple of days then the stay alive stopped working. i suspect i did not wire them up in series right and they have blown, new ones arriving today.
