  1. I wish the RTR manufacturers tell us how much space is available for the decoders in their "DCC Ready" locomotives AND the decoder makers tell us the dimensions of their products! I have just tried to fit a Rails 21 pin decoder to a Hornby 87 and the decoder is too wide! I've had to fit a Hattons 21 pin decoder instead.
  2. We have a holly bush in the front garden and my Dad spotted a Holly Blue butterfly in it for the first time. Taken with my mobile.
  3. Behind the scenes look at the train ferry operation in the Lotchsberg Tunnel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfUGuozFDRg
  4. Hachette partwork - really expensive whether or not they complete the series.....
  5. Youtube video about a railway technology museum in someone's house. He has working mechnical signals and demonstrates how they work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpbugb1Oj_4 In French but English subtitles available.
  6. Suppose you get mugged and the criminal has taken your home address and other details from your compulsory ID card in your wallet - will you be okay with that? Suppose you forget your wallet with your compulsory ID card inside it and a police officer asks demands your ID card just because - will you be OK with that?
  7. To be honest, I found Bagpuss to be very dull when I was a kid - his big yawn at the end was exactly what I felt too!

    On Cats

Guy builds a Lego train for his cats! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3CnDXh7hH0
  9. The no explosives sign. It's real - I drive past that every day! https://maps.app.goo.gl/gCNrV8YCJwsTTxg4A The reason - it's at the top of a very steep hill with a sharp bend in it. I suspect the first version of the sign was erected during WW2 as a precaution since there were lots of ammo trucks running around Lincolnshire then!
  10. ^^ My work appraisal is tomorrow and I think that is how it will go!
  11. I vaguely recall that during the 1980s the name "Harlequin Line" was being applied to that line by NSE?
  12. Last night my Win 10 laptop had the blue updating screen with the twirl for at least 2 hours - I had to leave it switched on overnight to finish!
  13. Reminds me of Grandpa Simpson's rant at metric https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5-s-4KPtD8
