Focalplane
George The 2P - is it from a David Andrews kit? I have built his Compound and have another one stored away for the future. Lovely kits. Best wishes, Paul
georgeT
Cheers Paul, Marks not too sure of the maker as he bought it three years ago at Telford unbuilt, also l have started to use the line / bow pen for lining this is my first serious attempt at it in years (before the shaky hands) with the grey line applied first, it needs to be tided up at the corners which are hand painted think l will spray a coat of varnish before adding the red line....
Andrew P
Very nice mate, looking forward to seeing the other colours on there.
georgeT
Cheers Andy, painting the corners in by hand is much harder than l thought trying to steady my 66 year old hands (hahaha) l have nice brushes 00 and 000...maybe l need better brushes (if there are any)? Quess l need lots of practice....

(I got mine from Amaz0n) Regards, Deano

Quess l need lots of practice.... It's interesting as you get older, isn't it! My eyesight is getting worse so the positive I get from that is if I can't see it it doesn't matter. But then when I put on the 3.5 reading glasses that hurt my eyes I see all the detail and blanche. A no-win situation. Paul
georgeT
I know just what you mean Paul l have two pairs of glasses one for modelling and the other for general, in my 0 gauge club most of us are 60 plus and all have the same problem, l think with the lining l will try a smaller corner next that may be easier, with the 2P l Did for Mark l used Fox transfers, easier but expensive?...
Focalplane
George I would have to go with Fox these days, cost being the lesser consideration. Tough decisions but there you are. Paul
georgeT
Hi Paul, l suppose once you buy Fox transfers you can do 2/3 locos so may be they are not that expensive, but l will persevere trying to hand line for while....
georgeT
Had a little visit to Peak Forest this afternoon in the showers, and saw a class 56 for the first time in years plus the usual 60s & 66s, did my mojo a big boost which has been lacking of late....

N15class
Now that was hard work. I still need lots of practice with the lining pens and spring bow.

Now that could SERIOUSLY tempt this old geezer into modern image for his New OO Project, add a couple of 150 Units and were off again on yet another tangent. Once again, YOUR a bad influence Mr T. RMweb Premium Ray H Posted August 10, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 10, 2018 Where do they fit the tension lock couplers on those locos with all that kit on the buffer beam (for want of a better description)?
georgeT
Been busy with the lining on the O2 and the D3, they are not 100% but with a good weathering you wont be able see the awful corners, guess l need a lot more practice, before doing the front splashers, boiler bands etc etc but it costs nothing to do and its fun...and different...l think l will make up some templates for the next loco ?...
