But I couldn't let this one go without offering it for a caption competition.

Once again, thanks for a great day.

As mentioned in the main thread for the Members Day, here is a thread to bring together images of todays events. Here are just a few from me to be getting the thread started.

Most of the gathering at 'Bath Green Park' and 'Tamerig Central', in the premises of the Taunton Model Railway Group at Bishops Lydeard last night, who very kindly opened their clubroom up for us again to have a play on their layouts:

And the obligatory photo of Brian Harrap at lunchtime, sat with Darren, whilst Phil Eakins tries a form of sign language behind...

My daughter thought the tunnel module was the best bit.Just her opinion of course without causing offence to other module makers!Oh and she did question me on the way home wether Mudmagnet really did make the bits and pieces in his depot building.

Here are my snaps from a most enjoyable day with friends:

Marc Smith's 7mm layout 'Poynton Sneer Sidings' (groan) complete with convincing onboard and ambient sound

post-14107-0-31317500-1335746137_thumb.jpg

General view of the hall with Phil Eakins' delightful 7mm layout 'Wadebridge 1860s' in the foreground... with Brian Harrap looking on mid-shot and BlackRat (Neil) in the background!

post-14107-0-36311700-1335746166_thumb.jpg

More of Phil Eakins' 7mm layout 'Wadebridge 1860s' - that's Phil operating

post-14107-0-47520700-1335744296_thumb.jpg

Brian Harrap's Z-scale (and that's ProtoZ scale folks) micro layout 'Mini ZOB' - that's all of it, there's no more!

post-14107-0-79037200-1335744351_thumb.jpg

Jerry Clifford (Queensquare), Brian Harrap and Re6/6 survey the rather daunting approach track plans for Jerry's 2mmFS magnum opus... Bath Queens Square

post-14107-0-29535800-1335744380_thumb.jpg

I like this - a wind-up rucksack layout! I have some of these same wind-up clockwork American-style train sets myself, and I was amazed to discover that they scale out exactly to 3mm scale with a track gauge of 14.2mm. Hmmm possibilities of wind-up 3mm finescale...

post-14107-0-79938500-1335744411_thumb.jpg

I like this one too - Stubby47's 'From a Carriage Window' an inventive and a truly neat bit of perspective modelling

post-14107-0-11111300-1335744439_thumb.jpg

And this is what it looks like in reality. Clever and thought provoking

post-14107-0-77441100-1335744468_thumb.jpg

Good layouts and neat modelling all. Shame there was no S scale, tho'... :rolleyes_mini:

But ohhh, I forgot to photograph the end-of-the-day cake auction! (mostly snapped up by BlackRat, I might add)

The ' from the carriage window' scene reminds me of the work of (IIRC) the late Jack Nelson... I remember in the MRC many years back a collection of his LNWR, GC and CLC cameos and dioramas in all sorts of scales .... My favorite was the signal box at Manchester London road which had a very similar forced perspective.

What I want to know is - who was that old codger that was operating my layout?

Thanks to Martin, Nick and Brian for stepping in while I took a break (and doing far better than I was) - rumour has it that CK was seen with the controller in his hand!

Anyway there's a pasty in it for anyone who can grass up the the imposter, can't be me .........

Phil

PS Thanks to CTHJHF - dammit Madeline, for sorting out my lunch today and to Andy Y for providing pudding - they know what I mean!

PPs [Edit] For thick fingers! [/Edit]

Okay, here's part 2 from me. First, Bath Green Park MPD:

post-7291-0-19333100-1335870640_thumb.jpg

Then, the "anything goes" roundy-roundy on t'other side of room:

post-7291-0-66565400-1335870751_thumb.jpg

I spotted this in the station museum - the man is everywhere...

post-7291-0-23064900-1335870797.jpg

Now at the Cross Keys, how about this for a dessert? My GP would have had a heart attack if I had eaten it! So, who was the major gannet?

post-7291-0-97003000-1335870872.jpg

Yes, none other than Master York. Note that four spoons were provided so the cholesterol could be shared with others. Not a chance :nea:.

post-7291-0-07769000-1335871192_thumb.jpg

And finally, a sort of group picture, with everyone suddenly well-behaved. It didn't last...

post-7291-0-43030200-1335871324_thumb.jpg

Off on an errand now, but I'll make a start on the Sunday shots when I return. Enjoy.
