Dicky W
Good afternoon Here's what's coming up in this month's BRM - certain shop copies (major supermarkets and Smiths) will also feature a brand new Pendon DVD on the cover which can also be streamed from MRL TV for those without! jwealleans
What is TW converting a Bachmann K3 into?
Administrators SteveCole Posted October 26, 2012 Administrators Share Posted October 26, 2012 All subscription copies also get the FREE DVD. Like Dicky says, any shops not carrying the free DVD will include a link to MRL TV where you can watch the complete footage via the internet. It's a cracking video! Dicky W
What is TW converting a Bachmann K3 into? The GNR variant Jonathan.
jwealleans
Excellent. A conversion I recall talking to him about years ago at Pickering and still haven't completed myself. I do have one to be backdated to the Darlington batch, so I shall probably give that a read.
gr.king
The GNR variant Jonathan. I'm not sure that statement is quite right, if it's the one I saw in Tony's possession. The presence of a GN tender doesn't automatically make the loco a GN version too.
Tase
All subscription copies also get the FREE DVD. Like Dicky says, any shops not carrying the free DVD will include a link to MRL TV where you can watch the complete footage via the internet. It's a cracking video! Including digital subs? If so, I do hope that you actually send it.....I'm still waiting for the last item you posted!!!

Dicky W
Including digital subs? If so, I do hope that you actually send it.....I'm still waiting for the last item you posted!!! What is it you are still waiting for? I'll sort it out for you on Monday when I'm back in the office.
Tase
What is it you are still waiting for? I'll sort it out for you on Monday when I'm back in the office. Thank you Richard. I've since had a PM from Steve who says he'll sort it on Thursday when he's back in the office. Kind regards.
Dicky W
I'm not sure that statement is quite right, if it's the one I saw in Tony's possession. The presence of a GN tender doesn't automatically make the loco a GN version too. He has carried out a full conversion including replacing the cab with a brass etch, and he's switched over the driving side.
gr.king
Thanks for the clarification. The picture shows that the conversion is as I thought. GN tender, but loco is one of the fairly early LNER batches, the cab representing the third version of the original Darlington design.
micklner
Good excuse to show another BRM as already mentioned earlier . A fantastic day Damon Hill on board
jwealleans
Very much the conversion I had in mind, but using the original cab (6 locos were not converted to the version shown until after 1939). The switch to RHD is fairly straightforward and I have the Spencer buffers already. I shall look forward to perusing TW's wisdom.

Blue Max
Went to two large Tesco's and two large W.H Smiths in my area to pick up the latest BRM with the Pendon DVD, none of these stores had the magazine with the DVD included, somewhat dissapointed? Coombe Barton
Tried Sainsbury's? The one in Tamworth had it.
10800
My local WHS had it, but when you play the DVD make sure you turn the TV volume down, the sound recording seems to be at a very high level!

RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted November 9, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 9, 2012 Got mine in Sainsburys Beaconsfield yesterday. Pendon DVD's glued to the front of all of them. It's that glue that comes off easily so no damage to front. Nicely done.... and no b - a - g like some December mags
Andy Y
It's that glue that comes off easily so no damage to front. But has somehow managed to stick itself to every other bit of paper on my desk. It must have some use as a modelling product.
Coombe Barton
Regarding glue - four dots (as we got) is miles better then two strips.

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted November 9, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 9, 2012 Pretty good issue all round and a nice tempting subscription offer which is likely to see me ceasing to have to search the shelves in our local branch of WHS as well as adding a bit of weight to the Postie's big barrow.
