Horsetan
Not a great deal of difference over the old Crownline design, given that they were drawn by the same hand.
darren01
HI Ray Looking very good mate, their seem a little less parts to this loco than my little 0-4-0 I am doing!. Looks very nice indeed, always liked the old Q1's ,Good luck with the build and keep the photo coming . All the very best Darren
RMweb Premium DLT Posted January 18, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 18, 2013 I shall be following this build with interest Ray, and the best of luck forming those curved bodypanels! All the best, Dave.
Horsetan
... best of luck forming those curved bodypanels!... In Crownline days, they came pre-formed. I'll dig out the old kit for comparison if I can remember where I put it!
tender
Hi Ray, Will be following this one with interest. I have a PDK West Country to build but am holding back at bit at present as other (modelling) things are taking precedence. Will be interesting to see how the construction of the two kits compare. What gauge are you going to build it too, and are you going to add any compensation? Another Ray.
RAY NORWOOD
Thanks to all who replyed and thanks for your comments. Other Ray. I am going to do 4mm, I will not go in the compensation. Dave, the curves have grooves on the inside so that makes it that bit easyer. RAY70B
RAY NORWOOD
Made a start today. The first two pic's is the baseptate and smokebox front. The two soldered together. Tha next two are of 7 spacers soldered on the baseplate This one has one of the screws for mounting body to chassis and the first of two firebox section in place This one has the first of two boiler wrape sections. This one has the smokebox in place. The firebox and the boiler has two wrapes, the second wrape has got detail on. Please sent me your comments RAY70B
RMweb Premium DLT Posted January 20, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 20, 2013 Looks like a really nice, well thought out kit. Dave.
Kenton
Good to see you had no problem forming those parts - a good kit with plenty formers makes the job easier. Each part clearly numbered and tab/slots just so you get them aligned straight.
darren01
HI Ray That looks amazing and well designed and thought out kit,the way the former work is very good , did you sort out the front OK that you where having a problem with?. At the rate you build kits it will be ready by next week, LOL. Keep up the good work and photo coming . All the best Darren
tender
Nice job Ray, looks like it's going together without too much trouble. Could be tempted to get one of these myself. Ray.

The cab soldered to firebox The second wrap over the firebox The second wrap over the boiler Fitted rivit striip / rivited cover / also cab roof shutter on the cab roof and the dome RAY70B

All the best Darren Hi Darren Yes I did sort out the problem, I just could not get the heat into the smokebox to solder the wrap, apart from that it all has come together very well. David Bigcheeseplant
I think you have the dome on upside down
RAY NORWOOD
Hi Dave I think you are right. I did not notice that, the top of the dome has a pin I just took it for granted that the pin goes in the hole on top of the boiler. Thank you very much. I will do that tomorrow. RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted January 22, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 22, 2013 I just love the way this 'coffee pot' has looked like a toast rack and is now morphing into it's proper name (weird English there, sorry....) Great work mate, but I have to point out a difficulty.......this has made me look at the PDK site (again) and my wallet hand is hovering over the wallet holster this very minute P
