Jaz
Aberdare I have to say I think dogs are probably easier. Four legs to balance on. The head shape conveys so much character. And the lumpy bits double as fur. I'm not even brave enough to copy Sasquatch and chop them to bits to pose them or replace their heads!!!! Although I have been considered changing some of the naff hairstyles.

RMweb Gold ChrisN Posted April 2, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 2, 2014 Jaz, They asked the question 'Was it scratchbuilt?' because they assumed that all you had done was painted a model. It was not in his comprehension that someone could make those and make them look that good.

Jaz
I've been growing the ears....a lick of latex at a time..... rmwebcastle4 rmwebcatle5 The legs will need to be cut shorter, but I need to get the paws bent first. Once I have the ears done..I'll low if they are ok and I can crop the head. The body is now filled and rounded. The tail is latexes past the tip. The rest is just for me to hold. This dog will need to stand on its own four feet as I have not left anything to push into the ground...unless I cut on 3 legs but then I need to make a paw. When it dries I'll add some white paint and see how its coming. I need to get the nose face and whiskers relationship. But I am fairly certain it is going in the right direction....just need the ears to go right.

Darwinian
Jaz, that is some amazing modelling you've done/ are doing with those dogs. When I were a lad I was in to Dungeons and Dragons and used the same technique but with Fimo clay as the modelling material to sculpt Hobbits and the like. It really isn't as easy as you make it look and these are so small too. Brilliant stuff. Nice to see some canine appreciation from other mebers too. Mine's a Springer, (well someone had to). Jaz
Darwinian /Adrian Kal loved Dungeons and Dragons....I adore Warhammer. We used to play Warcraft and others, I love the computer games, but with this you actually have something to show for your efforts. Several of our friends have a habit of daring people to try stuff...it usually ends up in some nice modelling. It just being brave / stupid enough to be willing to fail if you can't succeed.Luckily the successes out way the failures.....Must say very glad you don't own a Chihuahua......especially a puppy

Jaz
I think you need a Dog Grooming shop on the layout Jaz !! I too think a p00dle parlour is fast becoming a requirement.
@Jc
I too think a p00dle parlour is fast becoming a requirement. What do you plan to call it? Short Bark and Sides?, Doggy Style?, or even Doggie Do Do (Do as in hair do).
Jaz
OK The final tweaks. Cut the legs Cut the tail ...make it pointed Pink ears...white edges button nose hint of a mouth button eyes and a slight head reshape (by hand and fingernails...pliers would have been too much And some citadel agrax earth shade to shadow the fur especially around the muzzle. Done ....done...and dusted..... rmweb1352castle13 rmweb1353castle14 rmweb1354castle15 rmweb1355castle16 my personal favourite rmweb1356

Jaz
What do you plan to call it? Short Bark and Sides?, Doggy Style?, or even Doggie Do Do (Do as in hair do). What an excellent idea. I like the Short Bark and Sides. I even have the perfect building...as long as I can get the name on it..... It's the first little building on the right...a Hornby favourite of mine (I bought two) Hogwarts knight buys oops Bus loops still hidden this time behind the bus...just the chimney rmweb1358p00dleparlour4 ok now the dogs are helping to find it.... rmweb1259p00dleparlour5 aaah there it is behind the film crew....it's so small it often goes unnoticed.....well by muggles at least rmweb1366p00dleparlour12 For those who don't know it it is Hornby's resin building...The Busby Hair Salon. Jaz
Some more previously unseen Hogsmeade pictures. rmweb1365p00dleparlour11 rmweb1356p00dleparlour1 you'll notice it in several guises.....being magic the shops tend to walk about and plop them selves down in different spots as the mood takes them rmweb1357p00dleparlour3 In the background the Hornby Tuck Shop...where every decent dog owner buys their dog treats...... rmweb1364p00dleparlour10
Jaz
Not only do the buildings move about in magical Hogmeade, they get bored and change shape as well.... rmweb1363p00dleparlour9 rmweb1362p00dleparlour8 considering it's owls that are the favoured 'pet' with the odd toad and rat.....there seems no shortage of dogs..... just don't ask why they are chasing cars buses.... rmweb1361p00dleparlour7 I assume they are waiting for the next bus....and meantime have seen Harry coming back from the tuck shop..... rmweb1360p00dleparlour6
