SGJ
I have made a start on my new layout named Armley Moor, its based on Leeds ( West Yorkshire ), but not on the former station known as Armley moor, the location is the same area but not the actual station or surrounds. The track isn't yet pinned down but its work in progress. Ideas, comments, and suggestions are more than welcome. The layout is now called Midland Road and is no longer set in the Leeds area, it does not have a location anymore as I like to run any loco or stock for the layout which has made it a lot more fun
SGJ
Hopefully the track plan will be added bellow

MattWallace
I agree with Terry - nice use of the space, has the potential for a great layout!
SGJ
I have changed the station area slightly was to be a 2 platform station, I have decided to make it three platforms with platform three being also the entrance line for the Depot. ( the second platform - platform 2 and 3 will be inbetween where the 110 Calder Valley unit and peak 45106 is Also I have added a line behind the Depot for stabling the locos or DMUs The Private Goods shed bellow has now got the track inserted into its groves. I am having a small running session as all the fishplates are in place now for the main boards, but first I am going to add some track to the fiddle yard area. Bellow is another General view ( I have not yet pinned down the track as I am still thinking about how I want the layout to run ttfn Simon
SGJ
My luck, the controller is broke, so no running session, so I have staged a few more shots

Steve O.
Hi Simon, It's looking good. Especially like the shot of the white DMU threading across the double-slip. Looking forward to more. Cheers, Steve.

RMweb Gold tractionman Posted June 29, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 29, 2013 I do like your plan - it's given me some thoughts on how I can improve my station / depot area plans. Blue Peaks too, just my kinda thing! Good luck with the project, all the best, Keith
SGJ
I do like your plan - it's given me some thoughts on how I can improve my station / depot area plans. Blue Peaks too, just my kinda thing! Good luck with the project, all the best, Keith Hi Keith, Thanks for your kind comments, I am so glad to have inspired you, I am not entirely happy with the Depot, The size of the Peco shed is too big I think, It isn't right for the layout, but it does hold 3 car DMUs so it has to stay, I am thinking of putting a fuelling point to the back road and moving the Mainline slightly nearer to the Private goods shed ( one with the VDA Van ). I have put a few more images bellow with a DMU theame... two Calder Valley sets in the Station
SGJ
I have had a small swap around on Armley Moor`s Goods shed sidings. The origional position bellow The re-positioned goods shed on the next line across with the line extended, the coal staithes in the same position the line nearest my hand shortened and the line into the goods shed extended, Also the 3rd track left to right will now be for arrival and departure. The coal Staithes have been moved now over to the first line and the line has been moved closer to line 2 Also I have added a extra "Bunker" to the staithes This is what the line looks like with a loco and wagon The next job is to replace the single-slip at the head-shunt with a double slip, the single slip to be replaced is in the forground infront of my class 25 I have added some "moor" images to flikr http://www.flickr.com/photos/midland-road/sets/72157634737806230/ ttfn Simon p.s. All comments welcome and Ideas, Thoughts etc

SGJ
I have just made two kits ( both Wills ), the first one is the Weigh Bridge, and the Second one is the yard crane. SGJ
I will post a few more images. and Finaly my 9yr old Rusty I am hoping my new Bachmann 108 will arrive soon, ordered it today from Hattons so fingers crossed for a quick delivery SGJ
SGJ
In today's post, came a Bachmann class 108 ( in Manchester refurbished livery ), and the Double slip to replace the single slip in the Goods yard, I will insert the Double slip tomorrow evening after work, and take a few picks of it plus the 108. I am actually a little disappointed with the 108 because It doesn't come with a accessories pack ( e.g. Vacuum and Air pipes / Multiple working cables ), but over all it is quite nice, One day it will be changed to a west Yorkshire Neville Hill unit. I am thinking what I could do with the single slip, possibly add it into the Depot area eventually, I also have a Peco right hand curved point not in use, So if anyone has a idea how I could utilise these two Items in the Depot area I am open to suggestions the Depot area is the top right hand area and has two right hand points into the shed and a line round the back . Steve O.
Hi SGJ, Looking good... one suggestion though. You may like to add a run-round loop somewhere, otherwise all trains will need a helping hand from another loco (unless that's your plan). Cheers, Steve. Hi Steve, that is a very good suggestion, I think I might extend the station eventually and have a run round loop between the platforms, Maybe have the extension big enough to hold a ( shortened ) HST. I am going to do the double slip soon SGJ
SGJ
The new Double slip is now in place The point is about to be taken out of the box Taken out of the box I had decided to remove a few inches from the line between the sidings and Main Line because a couple of the points in the Goods yard were over a baseboard Joint, so this will hopefully stop any potential future problems.. The Double slip is now in place SGJ
SGJ
This is the new 108 DMU that recentley arived in the post. I will do a update later ( probabley tomorrow ) with the Depot area. SGJ
