Ozexpatriate
For a short while there was a thread for the Heljan GWR 1366 Pannier tank but it is locked. At this point perhaps the 1366 should have a home of it's own for discussion here. This model was announced at Warley in November 2013. From Model Rail on Facebook BIG NEWS! Heljan has just revealed the new models it will announce at the Warley NEC show on November 23. 1) 'OO' gauge GWR/BR '1366' 0-6-0PT https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151801006778207&set=a.371681018206.157212.176420418206&type=1 The ensuring discussion there focused mostly on the Met electric locomotive "Sarah Siddons" (which was the accompanying photograph to the Facebook post). Almost ten months on, I haven't noticed any further press on this item (but I don't get the British railway magazines so I may well have missed something). On the related 1361 thread the following question was raised: Have I missed the 1366 versions they are planning with the relevant numbers.(Thank you Robin.) Perhaps one of Heljan's "Facebook friends" amongst us will have spotted a post regarding liveries and running numbers for the 1366. I couldn't find anything on the Heljan website regarding the 1366. RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted September 2, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 2, 2014 Some months ago a small picture appeared in, I think, 'Model Rail' and I think it was of either a CAD or possibly a 3D print but it was too small to distinguish any detail or even the overall shape. I've seen nothing else although i'm sure I'd heard somewhere that Heljan stated it was quite advanced at the time they announced it - maybe they have been concentrating on the 2-8-0 and the Met Bo-Bo. We'll have to see what Warley brings unless anything appears in the meanwhile.
Grasslands
This is one of my favourite locos. I will definitely be ordering one. I hope we get some more information soon. Does anyone know what livery options Heljan have to choose from? Did any move into private service?

I hope we get some more information soon. Does anyone know what livery options Heljan have to choose from? Did any move into private service? None in private service but the sole survivor 1369 is preserved in working order on the South Devon railway in GWR green. Left Cornwall on 20 Feb 1965, which was then the end of BR mainline steam in Cornwall, apart from an excusion by 34002 later that year. It ran to Totnes under it's own steam. It was then in black with later logo. As it was built in Feb 1934, it had 31 years with GWR and BR, but then 49 1/2 years in preservation! ANT
Hello 1369 is at the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway at the moment, and I had the pleasure of driving it on my Driving Experience on the 30th August this year. I shall be ordering at least one, as I also have an interest in Weymouth Quay. Thanks SEEYAANT

ANT
Hello I did not manage to take any photos myself, but I had along some friends and family for the ride whilst I was at the controls. He is one taken by Richard Neil at the end of the morning at Chinnor Station. Thanks SEEYAANT

ANT
Hello The Stationmaster As far as I am a where it is still there. The link below gives you the details of what engines are used on what dates at the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway. http://www.chinnorrailway.co.uk/locomotivetimetable Which shows that the loco 1369 is there until at least the end of October. Linners
Heljan do seem to play their cards close to their chest! Perhaps this is how they prefer to develop and produce models, whereas the other RTR manufacturers are happy to reveal pictures of their progress through the development cycle. I am looking forward to seeing these pannier tanks, and I too wonder what progress has been made, and indeed when they are likely to be available - I guess we'll just have to wait. gooderz
Seeing the CAD images they handed out at the NEC of this, it looks to be a cracking model. I for one will be buying one of 1369 in Great Western livery as I have the joy of firing it at chinnor

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 18, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 18, 2014 I would have thought it would be close to release by now as apparently they were working on the tooling some quite long time back.

Has a list of models been published as the Heljan website has no information? When I get home I'll whip a few pics up. Heljan was handing them out at the NEC. Its still in the CAD stage. Quite why its taking them this long i don't know. They told me it wont be released until the last months of next year!
gooderz
Apologies for the delay in supplying the pic, I was busy firing the real 1369 It looks like it'll be a cracking model from that CAD image

Rob Hayes
What Gauge is this destined to be, I am hoping 0 gauge. Though 00 is also welcome. Its my fave version of the Pannier and I am just beginning 0 Gauge with the Heljan 40 and Hatchette Mallard from DJH. I would like to Join the Guild soon and this would make a great start to my Micro Layout I have planned for a small section of preserved line where I can run anything. The CAD looks very nice indeed I am sure there will be a way to get sound in. Rob
brian daniels
It's a tiddly OO model Rob. Onwards and upwards with your 7mm
Rob Hayes
It's a tiddly OO model Rob. Onwards and upwards with your 7mm Well that's still great news but 7mm as well would be a very good idea I reckon
Les1952
Its only a tiddly little model if your starting from something the size of a house brick. From the point of view of an N-gauge modeller it is Orribly Oversized.... Les
