My surgery isn't getting any flu jabs in until mid-October, and mine is booked for the 19th October. As for Covid jabs, they haven't any scheduled at all at the present!
You ought to complain about that to the health authority - the government has brought the Covid and flu jabs programme forward to try to stem off a new variant - I saw a queue outside the surgery at Craven Arms this morning, and ours are booked for next Saturday afternoon, and one of my neighbours who is immunocompromised had hers at the surgery last week.
Afternoon All
Been AWOL most of the week - sorry - must report to the head's office for six of the best.
However, been quite busy with various jobs, trips away and so on. Two trips to Shrewsbury last week - one to get a bank statement, which proved not possible as their machine was out of order - I kicked off as I'd driven over 25 miles to get to a branch, and they eventually relented, and printed one at the counter - I've a feeling that it won't be long before my bank statement has Nationwide at the top. Then as we were in town, visited the antique centre, where 30747 saw a lamp that she really liked, and I talked her out of it - FOOL - and she rang them and asked them to keep it for a couple of days - so another trip to pick it up a few days later - I'll never learn.
But I thought I'd share this with music lovers - Karen Carpenter would be pleased.

So where do you stay overnight Shrewsbury or Bromsgrove? Im guessing that you don't brave the A49 from Crewe every time!

Off at shrewsbury
Strange thing is that I was underneath Shrewsbury station at the time that you arrived, Jim. I was in the Park and Ride bus heading back to the out of town car park as you arrived - according to RTT which I had open on my phone at the time. We've got to stop not quite meeting like this when you're round here!!!!
And hey, that was some late arrival today - about 50 down all the way.

Should make for a lot better drives up and down the A49 with nothing to hold the traffic up at Onibury - on the other hand, I won't heaar you pass if I'm in station yard in Leominster

Afternoon All,
Oxfam was oxfammed yesterday - it gets boring pricing everything at £1.99 - so imagine my surprise to find two books that were priced on Bookfinder at over £20 each, and one gardening booklet about lichen which priced up at around £30 - all beyond my pay grade, so went upstairs for manager to do more research and to list them online.
Today, I am meant to be having one of my faves -scampi, a spam fritter, and chips - 30747 suggested a chicken korma using the slightly out of date jar of mix - guess who won - I'll give you a clue - the scampi and fritters are still in the freezer, and the korma is on the oven.
Lily in kennels for two days - one we plan to visit the in laws,in Berkshire, and the other a longer than normal day in Shrewsbury which is also now where the nearest branch of Barclays is - we need to pay the plumber's bill, and the "Local presence" was unable to assist, as her laptop would not verify the plumber's bank details.

Afternoon All,
Skipping has again happened, as I had so many parcels to wrap and check out on Evri - though that's not quit so - it was mainly 30747 doing the wrapping, and me doing the checking out and transport to the Evri parcel drop - about six today. Also went to the annual car boot at Ashton Carbonell where last year they stuck strictly to the "gates open at 11am" rule - and caused traffic chaos on the minor not quite double track road into the village (the village is a cul de sac). the C road leading to and from Caynham, and onto the A49 itself. The local plod were, apparently, not amused. We went early to get near the front of the queue, to find that there was no such queue, as they had decided to just go ahead and allow the sellers and buyers in early - like a more normal car boot. We got a few bargains - a fiver got me a 1930s Wonder Book of Railways in not bad condition - no date, but one piece about travelling LMS to Glasgow refers to two four coupled locos taking over at Carlisle for the run over Beattock, and loco changes at Rugby and Crewe.
Tomorrow is Oxfam, and taking one parcel to the post office, as Evri/Hermes do not deliver to Jersey - I already make a surcharge for North Scotland and Nortern Ireland, as Evri charge an additional £2.75 and warn buyers of this, but I overlooked the same for the Channel Islands - stand by for a loss on the postage!!!

I'm guessing that it was you that held me up at Onibury on the way back from the dump - I just joined the back of the queue when the level crossing opened - about half past eleven. I always seem to get stopped there - and at the Craven Arms crossing, which lies between the dump and the A49

Afternoon All,
Sorry for absence, but it's been a lot of other use of the laptop, mainly for Ebay.
Plumber is chez 45156/30747 to finally replace the toilet and wash hand basin - it's been about three months due to insurance co delays, and pressure of work on Simon's part - but he's the best around and though not the cheapest, his work is just excellent. He is a very (his staff say overly so) tidy worker, who won't leave tools lying around - a place of everything and everything in its place - then he tidies up after himself so that you'd never know he'd been. His choice of toilet and basin was so good that he didn't even make any holes in the vinyl. Just as well, as the insurance company said they'd only pay a proportion if the new suite caused any more damage.
Only problem is that the old suite is in the garden, as he can't get rid of it - so now we know why the hardcore skip at the dump is always part full of old loos and other ceramics - it's understandable as the charge for a trade van is £40 per visit, plus the cost of the permit.
