Bear can very easily go off some people....

It took me 3 years to do 3 rooms (s'pose I could claim that H/S/L is three rooms in itself, jacking the total up to five).

But you didn't have 30747 pushing you every inch of the way, and TBH, she did a lot of the actual paperhanging, and trimming while I was around for consultation, moving furniture, unloading freestanding cupboards (largely of my railway book collection) and taking down and putting back the heavy wall mounted cabinets.  Also, other than the trips out to town, Dr, and bank in Leominster, we worked every day from 8 til 2.30 with only a couple of breaks.  Had I not been so busy, I would not have checked for steam movements, and would not have missed

    That's him passing Ludlow station.

  2. Afternoon All,

Decorating continues - but I've put my foot down now, and there will be no more after bedroom 1.  As part of the finishing of Bedroom 2, I stained and waxed the new architraive while 30747 was wallpapering - should be finished on Tuesday.

Meantime, Tony Bennett  will be looking down from music heaven, and applauding this rendition of one of his classics.  It's amazingly good, and any guitarists out there will appreciate how difficult that accompaniment is.  No auto tune, and no other backing - just two very talented performers who are a lot more than the sum of the two.

  3. I still think that Leander in this livery just looks like a slightly odd Black 5 - BR Brunswick Green every time.

    Evening All

Got a email from our plumber, he can't fix the toilet for a couple of weeks due to a big job that he's on that's over running.  Got a phone call from Ian our helpful builder/handyman - can he come round tonight to sort out the doorbell and missing door architraive - too right he can. as that finishes bedroom 2 apart from staining the new timber to mid oak.  Decorating of downstairs is complete and all ornaments are back in their respective cupboards.  Next room is now bedroom 1, though the wallpaper is still in transit - due on Monday, but could come Saturday, but it gives us a break for a couple of days - bookwork probably.

Anyway, anybody for another offering from Emily Linge

    Regards to All

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby - The Kaiser Chiefs

Just heard them do their sound check for tonight's concert in Ludlow castle actually sounded like it was that number - but it is a mile and a half away so a bit muffled.

    Now onwards

I have an appointment with the dentist

Odd that - so have we - with the lovely Amina, who dispenses check ups, fillings, and extractions on the NHS (yes, the NHS) - we both need a filling - and for two fillings plus checkup scale and polish the bill for the two of us is still over £150 - probably about a quarter of the charge for the same work done privately.

    Morning All,

Alexa seems to work OK - the sound quality of this device is quite amazing.   Shame that she can't improve the quality of the shows that she plays on the radio - Zoe Ball still sounds like a manic individual, and the music that features on her show is also pretty rubbish.

Not a lot more to report,   I rather like this which popped into my inbox

    Regards to All

I always go via the A49 from home, it’s good at 2am as there’s nothing about and it only takes about 1:45 (without breaking any speed limits), I have done the road from bridgnorth to Ludlow when the A49 was shut at craven arms a few years back but wasn’t keen on that one

A bit of a lack of toilets en route at that time of the night - I can only think of three that are open - Shrewsbury x 2 Battlefield and Bayston Hill, and Wooferton - however, there's loads of laybys with hedges.
