  1. Right time back into Hereford - gives you some time in the emporium in Commercial Road
  2. Well done England's ladies - that last goal was worthy of the best footballers in the land - which I believe they are now - superb match from the bit that I saw.
  3. Its name out me off for a couple of years when they were starting out - it was only when a friend bought one and demonstrated it to us that we went straight onto eBay and bought one. Even frozen chips taste better than acceptable - this afternoon, 30747 had a curry coooked in the microwave, and I had scampi chips and mushy peas with onion rings, done in the air fryer in eight minutes (peas in the micro) - all perfectly cooked and tasty. ps Happy birthday Andy
  4. Afternoon All, Been AWOL again - sorry. Not a lot to say, and mucho skipping means that I am not all that up to speed with things here - we were going to Shrewsbury this morning, but 30747 woke with a sore throat, and asked if I'd mind not going - too right as I still have the cough that I picked up a few weeks ago - I.m going back to see the nurse practitioner tomorrow - they wanted me to go yesterday, but I'd had a couple of glasses of vino with my meal, so couldn't drive, and the nurse doesn't work on Tuesdays. We're now a three Alexa family, as one was installed this afternoon in the kitchen! - first one took about 30 minutes to fit, second was about ten, and third one just needed me to navigate the Amazon web labyrinth, as the Alexa website no longer directed me to the instal pages, but to a personal page - from there, I managed to find a link to instal a new device - so I did, it took a minute to instal as for some reason it didn't need my router key. The mysteries of technology - it was never like this when I was young in the 1960s - then two channels of TV then a third one and that was about that. Back tomorrow - who knows? Regards to All Stewart

  9. Don't forget to give us a toot just before you cross the A49 Jim
  10. Afternoon All, Yet again, some skipping, as I had to go to Huws Gray to collect the mixed paint which 30747 had chosen for the bathroom - well, she's still on the decorating track and is now talking about the kitchen as well - so much for no more decorating. Other than that, not a great deal happening that's worthy of report - but 30747 appears to be watching some sort of cr*p on TV about making money for nothing out of rubbish. The whole premise just seems to be TV rubbish - it seems to involve having special authority to remove rubbish from the skip, then having some contacts with specialist skills in removation, and finally having a large sum of money to spend with said experts. Then sell the stuff, and hey ho, you've made money for nothing - I should coco. Regards to All Stewart It's only what you've paid for in your NI over the years - not a giveaway so take it with open arms - it's your entitlement after all.
  11. I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band) - Moody Blues
  12. Right Down The Line - my late one time friend Gerry Rafferty
  13. Afternoon All, Well, I've been AWOL again due to various non RMWeb activities - and we are now a two Alexa family as 30747 thought that it gave us a better choice of listening upstairs than the iffy DAB reception round here - well she's got a point - until the internet goes down. At least I could remember how to set it up after the last time - I think she may be looking for one for the kitchen as well(?). And I made a mistake when ordering six bags of coffee - I wanted a pick and mix of Taylors coffees, but chose the wrong drop down from the menu and got six of a sort that I've never tried before. A snotty note to the seller, and he promptly came back to confirm that the mistake was on my part but that I could return the offending package at my own expense, for a full refund. After a bit of thought, I decided to keep it, in the hope that it was OK - brewed some, and it was utterly, utterly beautiful - strength 3 but very subtle and unctious - it is good, and will serve me well for a few weeks. It all goes to show that you don't need strength to get a good cup of coffee. Then I had problems with the laptop - the screen started to get quite dim, even with the brightness full up - then the sound gave up - so I decided on the time honoured method of switch it off for five minutes, and let it reboot - success on both fronts. Lucky you - I had the same until Barclays closed it - only it was a 3 min drive and 150 yards - now it's a 10 mile drive, and will soon become a 28 mile drive to Hereford or 30 to Shrewsbury and similar to Worcester, as they're also closing Leominster - having closed Craven Arms, Church Stretton, Bridgnorth, and Ludlow - B*stards. We are seriously looking at moving all our business to Nationwide, as they have branches in Ludlow and Leominster, and have undertaken to keep them both open for the next three years - albeit on 3 days a week each. Regards to All Stewart
  14. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Beatles
  15. Welcome to the Machine - Pink Floyd
  16. House Of The Rising Sun - The Animals
  17. Afternoon All, Happy birthday Dave F. Much skipping has occurred - due to many other matters some utilising the laptop (including Ebay), bookwork, and general sorting out of matters domestic. Late to the party, but I can share some experiences about business travel, expenses, and other such related things. I worked for four years as a Pensioneer Trustee for special pension schemes, and my manager was very fair, and allowed me almost free rein to arrange my meetings in the most economical manner - if that meant flying, or overnight stays, then it was all the ordinary class flights - not a problem was we were looking at domestic flights anyway. Hotels had to be 3* maximum unless I could pick up a 4* for a good price. I had one client in Stornoway, and that presented a problem, as I had a target of two meetings a day, and no others in that part of Scotland. So I arranged to meet a client in Hounslow first thing, and chose a day when my Stornoway client was flying to Inverness booked a meeting room at Dalcross airport, and flew up on the mid morning flight from Heathrow, and we both departed, me on the return flight to Heathrow, and the client on the evening flight to Stornoway. Ingenious and cost effective. Then the manager left, and his successor started to try to introduce "economy" to the process. No flights under 300 miles so only Scotland qualified- all to be done by company car (a VW golf GTI) - and hotels to be Travelodge or similar standard. Meals and client entertainment were frowned on - only legitimate meals for myself were permitted - and they were restricted to £12.50 per meal or £40 maximum at the outside for three meals per day - all receipts to be furnished and scrutinised. On one occasion, I had a VERY serious back problem, with a client meeting in Manchester, and even with a note from my physiotherapist (paid for by the company as part of the job package) they would not stretch even to me taking the train to Manchester, and insisted on my driving there and back, I was off for a week thereafter with a bad back - with medical certificate - so the company, for the want of saving a few quid had no client meetings - losing the meeting fees of £150 each - and as I used to fit in 2 or 3 a day, the net loss to them was around £1500 - £2000. Luckily, I was made redundant a few months later. oops, cut Dave off in his prime - Exactly what we have in the South of the county too. Regards to All Stewart

  20. Daddy Wouldn't Buy Me A Bow Wow - Jessie Mathews
  21. Jim, I'm guessing that it was you passing Leominster around 12.50 this afternoon - if so, I heard you going through as I was in one of the antique centres backing onto the line in the old goods yard - checked RTT and found 4O77 was running about 55 early - so I didn't get to see you passing.
