  4. Hello Martin, absorbing Irwell Press and taking up wholesale distribution for over ten other publishers, giving us now in excess of 1700+ titles in our warehouse, this alone has certainly kept us all busy this year. However, behind the scenes I have been putting together and completing a large number of titles that would otherwise have come out this year, but will now start to flow in 2024, thick and fast. So, by all means send Santa your wish list asap. We will announce all our new titles as they go to the printers each month in 2024. All the best, Kevin

  10. They are well described along with the patents, forced ventilation, streamlining, pressure ventilation, sound proofing the coaches and even the carriage formations for the special trains such as The Silver Jubilee etc, but with 460+ pages we thought most would be interested in the development of the locomotives, and not just the pacifics either. With over 20% of the print run already sold in the first 15 days, we might well have achieved the right balance for everyone. Have a listen here to find out even more as the author is interviewed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVh7yZyd9Lc Kevin

  19. The suggestions for names could be far worse if we drifted back towards the likes of Top of the Pops and Jimmy Saville you can see what I mean... The regimental names employed by the LMS, LNER and to a lesser degree by the GWR were inspiring, as were the Squadrons on the SR, along with distinguished Admirals, even BR joined in with some good choices for Britannia names which in turn evolved into a decent selection of names for Peaks, Warships and Deltics. Even regimental names were considered for several Class 37s. This brings me back full circle to suggesting that those who came up with the likes of those two names above around Top of the Pops and many similar "daft" names, perhaps thought that in naming D822 Hercules was after the Warship for sure but by the time they got around to naming 50007 as Hercules in 1978 it was after Albert Steptoe's horse, hence renaming 50007 to Sir Edward Elgar (Edward the green engine)? Kevin
  20. I have serious doubts it will ever surface via Crecy to be honest, as several of their existing authors are looking at Strathwood and other publishers to see their new works released just now instead. Kevin
  21. For the shear amount of research and new material within Simon's new work on Sir Nigel Gresley running to 460 pages this is a most worthy Book of the Week and we commend this to you. Sir Nigel Gresley The L.N.E.R.'s First C.M.E. 23. The latest arrival is from Middleton Press and is the first of their titles to be priced at the new price point of £19.95. We are holding all their earlier stock at the old price of £18.95 until the end of the year for our customers, when we will join the publishers and increase to £19.95 each across the board. We currently hold ALL of their titles that are in print in our warehouse (that's 400+). 24. Hello Peter, unlike the main owner Amazon we have no plans to go into space off the proceeds of our customers. But we did post on 3 November the latest on this title and a few others as we do our best for customers. Just passing on the news as we all expected several titles to be in stock around now, but the publishers Crecy seem to have had issues as they now advise that October/November releases for these two titles are put back to January 2024. We already have advance orders for these which we will honour when the publishers actually release them, meanwhile we are still taking advance orders for those customers who want to roll them into our Christmas Bonus Offer, which means we will send out what you order now and the two delayed titles to follow in January. All very frustrating for everyone of course, the titles affected are: British Railways Freight Terminals Since 1960 British Railways Diesel and Electric Locomotives Also suffering delays are Lightmoor Press with these two titles now due late November rather than the anticipated late October. The Railway Over the Stainmore Pass Post-War Boom and Bust on the North Trans Pennine Also caught in the same delay is: The L&NER Delivers the Goods Volume Two The Scottish and North Eastern Areas These two are expected to arrive with us late November so will be shipped ASAP upon arrival. Our own new title Sir Nigel Gresley The L.N.E.R.'s First C.M.E. is very much still on target for release on 15 November as planned. https://strathwood.co.uk/products/sir-nigel-gresley-the-l-n-e-r-s-first-c-m-e-launched-15-november-2023 Kevin Kevin
