  1. A couple of wagon bodies were also attached to a bogie flat wagon for filming at Paddington. I was involved with Tornado that night for the filming. The following day a 66, this "wagon" and the engine was moved to Southall. A very bizzare sight!
  2. Hornby have uploaded a new photo onto their social media stream today with more to come by the looks of it...
  3. Hello everyone, Having searched the web and drawn a blank I thought I would ask the collective here. Has anyone produced a Manning Wardle L Class in 4mm scale? I fancy one for the layout as I used to drive two of them at the Middleton Railway. Lovely engines which I really miss working on. Many thanks Andy
  4. The team at Hardy’s Hobbies are really looking forward to Saturday. We will have the full range of of 00 and O gauge figures with us along with undertaking custom scanning. Look out for our show offers! See you saturday!
  5. We have been busy at it again. This time we have been at STEAM museum to scan their Brunel models. Its a great looking figure and now available on the website at www.hardyshobbies.co.uk
  6. New year and some new figures and a few new footplate figures to start 2019 with. Not only are these suitable for many mainline and industrial locos but they are a perfect fit for the Hornby Peckett! As usual all available from www.hardyshobbies.co.uk
  7. This week's new figures feature something for the modellers of more recent decades... All available as usual from www.hardyshobbies.co.uk Happy modelling!
  8. Its that time again! Another batch of footplate figures have been released including a (in my opinion) fantastic young fireman enjoying a smoke between duties. As usual all available from www.hardyshobbies.co.uk
  9. Don’t forget that our 15% off sale ends at midnight tonight! Your discount will automatically be added when you check out! www.hardyshobbies.co.uk Happy Modelling!
  10. Hello everyone. Sorry it’s been quiet over the last week. I have been away in the Arctic circle Northern Light spotting (no trains on this occasion!) It’s not just the big companies that are offering Black Friday deals, we are too! From Friday to Sunday we will be offering 15% off our products (and remember you get free postage on UK orders over £50) if you enter the code BLACKFRIDAY on the checkout page. Why not treat yourself to some more footplate crew, accessories or other figures for your layout? Happy modelling! Andy
  11. We have released another couple of batches of figures. Firstly some nice 1940s and 50s young ladies alongside some 1960s photographers )with the odd civilian thrown in). All of the footplate accessores are now available in O gauge and upwards and we are working on making as many as possible available in 00 as well. All available through the website at www.hardyshobbies.co.uk Happy modelling!
  12. It was a lovely engine, I spent a lot of time with the owner doing various bits and pieces with him but the railway wanted to move it on as progress was slow. Your correct about it not being an exact H. One thing I have found with Mannings (and I've been lucky enough to work with four standard gauge examples) is that there is no such things as a standard...
  13. Oh how I wish I had the skills to assemble one. I would have bitten your hand off for some parts, but the reality is I wouldn't be able to make anything from them! I love the H's. I spent quite some time helping the owner restore the locomotive that is now residing at Barrow Hill when it was at Middleton. Andy
  14. Jeff, Im not likely to be at the NRM for a while but when I am I will ask one of my ex-colleagues there if can scan them. I was hoping there might be another, or a replica that would work closer to home in Kent but that looks less likely! Thanks Andy
  15. Hi Jeff, Sorry I missed that one. I’m hoping to do some younger trainspotters if I can find a suitable model. Regards the foxes I would need to find an original to scan. Any ideas? Andy
  16. Its been a busy week again with lots of orders going out and work on a few new figures moving along nicely. A few spare minutes allowed time to pose some figures on Hobbs Hill... On top of this we have been working on some larger scale figures for my 5" gauge Butch. Happy modelling! Andy H
  17. I agree and I do plan to do some scans with a box brownie. These do look like a 'posh' photographer so it will probably work. We have been busy releasing some accessories in O gauge with some to follow in 00 gauge shortly. To see more take a look here: https://hardyshobbies.co.uk/product-category/o-gauge/o-accessories Thanks Andy
  18. Many thanks to everyone for the kind comments. We are planning some more trainspotters. We have scanned a young gentleman with a 1962 Polaroid which we hope to be added into the range soon. We have also been working on some more footplate figures, including cleaners and Inspectors for which I attach the scans to show the progress. Cheers Andy & Steve
  19. Interestingly you are the second person to ask for a superman! We will see what the future brings! For those that are interested we have just started work on these period ladies... Some editing is required before testing and printing. Keep an eye on the website for these and more figures in the coming weeks. Thanks Andy
  20. Hi Mike, The bases were fitted after painting as these models were for display. The figures come attached to some small supports used in the printing process and in postage. These are clipped off easily prior to painting. Thanks Andy
  21. Hello everyone, I would like to introduce everyone to Hardy's Hobbies a new small business creating figures for the model railway market mostly in 4mm and 7mm scales. We have been creating figures for some time for both my model railway interest and my colleagues sci-fi interests and after some encouragement from friends we have decided to release a small range of figures into the big wide world to complement the fantastic models and figure ranges already produced. Our figures are created using 3D scanning technology before editing and production in resin via 3D printing technology. We have tried to capture natural poses for all our modes and have used people out of the railway industry and heritage railway (where I work for my day job) world to act as models in their appropriate attire simulating poses they would use during their day to day activities. The range is constantly being developed. We currently have more civilians in the pipeline and some fantastic 1940s ladies and a wartime land army girl in the editing phase alongside some accessories in O gauge. Please take a look at our website www.hardyshobbies.co.uk for more information. Although primarily producing figures in 4mm and 7mm scale, we can also produce figures in most other scales. Although I don't visit the forum every day I will try to answer any questions or comments anyone has. I have included some photos of painted 4mm and 7mm scale figures for anyone who might be curious. Thanks for looking! Andy & Steve
  22. Well for anyone wanting to see the K&ESR vintage set in action it now looks like (for various reasons) it will be in operation from now until the end of August. When I shunted the set yesterday it comprised of the following vehicles: SECR Birdcage No.1100 SECR 4 Comp[artment Saloon No.2947 SECR Brake Third No.3062 Met Coach No.353 Great Eastern six wheel Luggage Brake Third No.197 SECR Family Saloon no.177 We also anticipate the District Coach No.100 entering service later this year giving the unique opportunity to see two Underground 4 wheel coaches together. Keep an eye on our website for more details. If anyone has any questions about the fleet or running then give me a shout! Andy
  23. Regarding the K&ESR I will fill in a few details: The "A" set features mostly Mk1 vehicles. Out of a 5 car train, one has to be Petros our disabled access vehicle, alongside the RMB for catering. To meet the demands of the catering bookings we then need a further two TSOs. We usually then add a Maunsell BNO into the set to give passengers a chance to see an earlier vehicle. For most of the year the DMMU makes up the second service. This year during June we had the vintage set out every weekend featuring the 4 and 6 wheelers and the birdcage. When three trains run we usually use the Mk1s, DMMU and Vintage, or two Mk1 rakes and a vintage. The two train running season will see the Mk1 set out (which will include the BNO from the 6th August - its currently got 3 TSO vehicles in the train as the BNO is needed to strengthen the Pullman next week.) The B set will be 2 or 3 Mk1 vehicles plus the Birdcage. Unfortunately the vintage train was advertised in error. There are so many considerations when choosing which vehicles to run. Disabled access, catering ability and requirements, physical numbers of seats, balance of different classes, restrictions on individual vehicles, toilets and so much more. Its not an easy job! If anyone on here is looking to come ride in a specific vehicle please let me know and I will advise when items are running. Cheers Andy H
  24. Sorry Dava for some reason I missed your post! I'm unsure about the roster at present for the Hoppers weekend. I know the Terrier will certainly be running and out of the remaining two locos one will need to be big enough to take a 5 car train (Norwegian is limited to 4). I will see what I can find out. Andy
  25. Did it ever arrive? Would like to see any progress.
